Question

1- How many time can I renew a PR Card? I have heard that you can only renew it for 3 times, it means for 15 years only.
2- Does one have to apply for citizenship or can live in Canada with my PR Card for my entire life? Or be in Canada for 730 days every 5-years.

1. There is no limit on how often you can renew a PR card. As long as you meet the residency requirements and don't commit crimes, you can keep your PR forever.

2. You need to be in Canada at least 730 days in any rolling 5 year period to keep your PR status. You don't have to apply for citizenship unless you want to.

Thank you for you answer Leon.

Can you direct me to where the information you provided is printed. Is there a guide or law that you can direct me to that sates you can renew it an unlimited numbers of times (as long as you satisfy the 730 days/5 years)

Thanks

There is no specific law that says "you can renew your PR card as many times as you like". All there is are requirements that you must meet in order to renew. As long as you meet all the requirements, your PR card renewal application will be approved.

Remember also, that if you don't need to travel outside Canada, you don't have to renew your PR card. The PR card expiring does not effect your PR status - the two are separate.
