I would suggest you to call cic agent about your progress. Normally CIC agent will tell you whether you have passed the eligibility or pre-screen and so on. Or you can order note from them.
Hey Guys,
I am a November 2015 Applicant. I have applied for work permit renewal and got rejected cause I did not include my PNP certification (even though nowhere I was asked to include this document in the website). Today I have to go to work and quit because I am no longer authorized to work. I Called CIC and was told that I can apply for restoration my status but it wont be an open permit and will be a job specific permit. That is, I need to get an offer first then they might give me a permit only for working in that specific company. Also it will take 90 days and no guarantee that I will get my work permit again. Anyone knows how I can get an open work permit. Or has it happened to

No Cause I m on contract. It s not a permanent job. but I had to go through a lot to enter my feet into my company even on a contract.

Supporting documents
When you submit your work permit application, include the supporting documents listed in your document checklist and add a copy of your Acknowledgment of Receipt letter.
For Express Entry applications, we will send the letter to your account after we get your application. For other programs, we send you the letter after we check that your application is complete.
If you applied under the Provincial Nominee Program, also include a copy of your nomination letter.
If you apply online, upload these documents using the “Letter of Explanation” entry in your document checklist.

I am thinking about the same question. I am going to extend my work permit earlier in July because it is going to expire in Nov.
Why can you re-apply and provide a letter explaining what happened along with all required documents and see if they can issue one for you. I mean, if you have your PR application in file, they have no ground to refuse WP if all docs are provided. Try again and see how it goes.

I am another Dec 14 , 2015 applicant waiting for the PPR. Both me and my wife were asked for CV and publication list back in April 2017 and since then nothing happened. I asked MP for the updates and they said your medical is extended but security check is still in progress. Not sure what to do ....
Just have a quick question about graduate work permit extension? Can we apply for the work permit once post graduate work permit is expired? if you have a contractual job.

Thanks. Actually in my case, my wife is the prince applicants and she is not working due to kids. For me, being a dependent in application, tehre is no BOWP option as I have my own PGWP.
