that's y I called .But I think previous agent who told me that security has been received yesterday and its not been updated looks true .Because when I called 2nd agent she says security is in process and I asked when did the officer last time touched my file .She said yesterday .Most like there was some kind of update yesterday and she doesn't wanna tell me . The previous agent whom I have spoken told me everything looks fine and security was received yesterday and its not been updated yet so its still showing in progress .She told me to wait

Ok. I think there is some progress going on! I think this is a good sign!

Last time I called CIC was the Friday before Victoria day weekend. I was told that my file was waiting for an officer review, the CIC agent told me to wait.

Yes, it is the same. I think this equal to " in progress" in the old format

I don't know why I dint file in express entry .If I calculate my points . I have score of 453 .I think my file would be processed in time . But unfortunately that's not happening

Me too. I don't know if we can apply EE now with this one in progress?

Does anyone know what the turnaround time is for the passports once they are sent to CPC?
I mean, how long do they take to stamp and ship the passport?

According to the staff at the MP's office that is helping me, applying for Express Entry does not change the fact that security screening might take on its own up to 6 month.

In other words, even if i now apply to EE, i will still have to go through the delays. Any thoughts from you guys about that ? To me this is not accurate because i am seeing people getting PR in 6 month from the same country i am from by EE.

I have sent emails to CPC Ottawa and CIC but haven't received any response. Sent web form 2 weeks ago and last week sent an email to CPC Ottawa but nothing. I guess we should share this with the media as I can't see any end for it. I have known at least 20 people in the same situation applied in July and August 2015 and still nothing.

hi Debbie . I called cic toll free within Canada and I am inland applicant and what about you .If ur outland applicant processing times varied between inland and outland applicant .

The long wait time may force some people to withdraw their app and move on with their life. Even people who are sent to prison are told when their sentence will end...

I don't think the security is the only reason behind this delay since last year people received the final decision b/w 11-16 months. Although from this year you have access to mycic and can upload any documents in minutes but the processing time has gone up.

my 18th month has passed away .The last time I called cic agent one agent told me security was done again and received and its not been updated yet and then I talk to different agent she says security is in process .When I check my cic account it went from background check in progress to not applicable and then again it switch over to we are processing your b/g check and if we need additional document we will contact you .I don't know whom to believe .My bridge extension was expired applied for extension no update yet .Don't know what to believe and what not .God help me out .

I received a response from Ottawa that your case is still in Sydney. Means that still in PS.
