Hello Team,

This is my 18th month for the PR file. Stuck in security screening ofcourse. Contacted MP, CIC, case specific inquiry, MLA, GCM notes, with no help at all.

The reason why i contacted all the above is the following.

My current job includes traveling to other provinces. In other words, my office is in Edmonton but my area includes more than Alberta. I travel on little projects here and there.

My work permit expired, CIC sent me a new bridging work permit that is Alberta specific, the HR of the company i work at questioned that line, i connected with CIC, they said they have no documentation and i should take it to the province though it is a CIC document. Took it to the province (MLA), they said yes i can not travel on projects here and there.

What a joke ! I will loose my job very soon because of this !

CIC issues either open or closed work permit. If you have a closed work permit it means you can only work with your current employer and it doesn't mean that you can't travel. You can travel if you still working with the same company.

I have a question. I did BOWP in Jan 2017. Dec 16 applicant waiting for security to be done. Let's say it's taking a year to finish. So on Jan 2018 can apply for a new BOWP? Will cic issue me that?

alberta 1900 did u call cic .Call and ask them why dint u receive ppr as it shows dm in ur account .They might answer your question

I don't know alex it changed from background in progress to not applicable .Are they doing background check again or what ??

Same thing for me buddy. It changed to NA from in progress. Its been a long wait. Patience is the key buddy.

Spouse called cic, background check is completed!!! they have sent for updated schedule A and police record for myself from UK because that's where I studied. However its online and I have never gone to UK. So I sent explanation letter from April 14, however that is not updated as yet.. due to backlog. fingers cross

harshilm .Are u under 16 months processing and when did that changed . Did u called cic and asked them ?
