I just got my oath invite email. March 26. I'm an October applicant, but November AOR. I was in the Feb 21st cohort for FPR with RCMP to Vancouver. See my signature for a link to MyImmiTracker with the timeline. I haven't updated anything with the oath yet.
Congrats! Super happy for you. Thank you for sharing all the information that you have shared over the weeks.

Per the invitation email for the Oath, dont you need to wait 2 business days before you apply?

"· Please keep in mind that you must wait a minimum of 2 business days after your citizenship ceremony to apply for a Canadian Passport."
A member of my family had in-person oath ceremony today -
-only paper certificate provided, but looks nice, no complaints on that (although had asked for e-certificate);
-was told that must wait three days before applying for passport. Wasn't clear from the version I heard whether they meant business days or just because a friday. Not in a rush anyway.

I still suspect that this is mainly about the certificates given out at the in-person ceremonies. After all, they will have had them printed out in advance, then there will be some no-shows, and so they must have some procedure to 'confirm' that oath administered and to activate certificate. (And some procedure to deal with the no-shows and the leftover certificates.)

But I've no way to confirm my suspicion (at least, no ways that would require no work whatsoever, my hard requirement for a topic I don't care much about.)

Yes, FAQs state that in-person ceremonies only provide paper certificates regardless of whether or not the applicant selected e-certificate. There is no choice offered and the paper certificates are handed out at the ceremony.

Yes, we basically knew that about the in-person and certificates. Was more mentioning because of the specific instructions at ceremony that need to wait before applying for passport.

It's exactly as you said. They probably validate after the ceremony to ensure only those that show up get marked as citizens. so that's probably why they ask for the 3 days. It takes time for the database to update and if someone rushes to get a passport, the certificate may come back as invalid or something.
Whereas the digital certificate is sent after the ceremony so the validation is down beforehand.

Has anyone had any experience with interviews in London, ON? I was just called in for an interview in-person there. What happens after that?
The letter/email usually tells you why the called you in. Often times is to validate what you put in your application, such as physical presence (so passport stamps, trips, etc), and other things. Take all your documents, especially what they ask for in letter.
Don't panic, most people who go through the interview report back that it's a straight forward conversation and doesn't last long. Just be honest and truthful and you'll be fine.

after calling rcmp i called IRCC again yesterday, and told them that RCMP had mailed the results on 21st. But IRCC said they haven’t received the results yet, and call back if my status is not updated until March 13th, which is next week.
they also confirmed that my test is marked complete from their end, and the tracker might take a few days to update.
