Spoke with an agent on the phone. They said the file has been assigned to an officer in Montreal.
Called an agent today and turns out my application is still stuck in Sydney. I have a feeling agent KL21907 might have something to do with it. Maybe contacting CBC about this agent code would help. Once we are out of Sydney I imagine it would be smooth sailing.

same thoughts. I’ve already reached out to someone at CBC regarding this. Haven’t heard back yet. For now, I suggest you email the immigration minister about this. I have done this and a couple others have as well. You can find the email if you scroll back in this thread.

Thanks will do. Please keep us updated on CBC’s response. It’s absolutely nonsensical to think that 15 months down the road they haven’t started processing. I think we should be entitled to a PR card renewal fee waiver if it comes down to it at the very least.

I already contacted CBC , this is what I got from them

You can file an Access to Information Request with IRCC, specifically asking them about agent/officer ID KL21907.
You can ask them to identify when they were last active, whether your application number is still assigned to them, whether they are an active employee or a code for other purposes, and any other questions you may have about that ID.
https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do
The Access to Information request costs $5, and can take months to retrieve, but if your request is simple enough, it may take less time.
This is how I was able to find out about the inactive codes.
Hope this helps!

I'll keep this officer code on my radar."

Do you have to notify anyone in IRCC after you completed your citizenship test and passed? Or do they receive the update (that you passed test) automatically and you don't have to do anything?

Well that’s useless. I reached out to a cbc reporter specifically. She asked where I was located and hasn’t got back to me yet. Let’s hope she’s more helpful than this :/

I may add that I already requested ATIP notes about agent KL21907.
I got an email from IRCC asking me exactly what I wanted to know.
So, I responded this morning with the questions CBC reporter advised me to ask.
Hope to get response shortly

You can apply for gcms notes for a specific agent?

I think I’ve already mentioned this, but if background checks are taking ~9 months, and some of our applications haven’t even started processing, I doubt they’ll wrap up the rest of the application in another ~3 months. Which means we’ll be over the 2 year mark if at all. What a total scam.

Hope is our biggest friend and our biggest enemy . Lol.
