Hello All,

My name is Lorena, I'm from Argentina, I'm new in this group.

Does anyone know what happens after the test? I've tried to call IRCC, but the lines are always busy. Do you have an estimate on how long the process will last? I want to go on vacation this summer because the processing time says 27 months, but my friend got his Citizenship in 7 months (Oct 2021 Applicant), at the same office, here in Kitchener, he got his ceremony on Monday, and he is also an online applicant. He gave me a tip to call every day to IRCC, but honestly, I don't have the time, I just do one call per day and I never get a chance to talk to the official.
First, welcome to the group!

Does anyone know what happens after the test? - They verify your result officially. You got a score, but that is not 'official' yet. Some officer will see the photos taken randomly during test, and certify the result.
If something is suspicious, they will ask you to appear for another test (don't worry, extremely rare).

Do you have an estimate on how long the process will last? - Long. Usually one year approximate. It may be done even earlier if your profile is 'routine'.

I want to go on vacation this summer - Of course. I am sure you can use your Argentine passport as well. You are free to leave the country while your application still in progress. Does Argentina allow dual citizenship? As far I know, it does.
On a different note, your passport (Canadian) application may take long time due to high demand.

but my friend got his Citizenship in 7 months - Everyone is different. Official estimate still says 27 months. But I believe that's on the 'higher' end.

He gave me a tip to call every day to IRCC - I personally do not support this idea. To me, this is a wastage of taxpayer's money, and official's time. But some people claim this works. I doubt that, but I got no proof.

Your choice, after all.

I never get a chance to talk to the official - You can only speak to call center execs, not to an official.

Thank you for your kind comments. I just had a call with IRCC; they told me that my file is ok and that I need to wait for the official to check my language, time and background. That they don't have a timeline, that the process is 27 months, and that I should be patient. I asked the lady if it helps somehow to call them every day. She told me that they could not do anything, but a note will be registered in my notes.

does she mean the responded call will be registered in the note or even if they do not respond the log will appear (because when you call they ask you for your application ID)

The lady told me that a note will appear on my file that I called. That's it, I don't think that will help me speed up my process. I think calling is a waste of time. She also told me that people are desperate and anxious because of the delay and long processing times. That 99% of the calls are of files that are still on time and in process. Poor people, really to deal with all of us waiting for an answer or when or what is going to happen with our application.

I think that one call was enough; I don't really have the time to call every day. This is a process; it says 27 months... and I rather wait peacefully than get anxious. I totally respect the people that do it and have the time to do it.

Good day.
I applied for urgent processing in November because of my husbands health problem who lives outside Canada ,and got AOR December third, after that five month silence .April 26 I requested for fingerprints,no test yet .so what is your advice for my situation?
I really impressed by your timeline.
Really I don't know. You should send an email to the office that has your file.

In my case, I know that the Kitchener office is speeding up all the citizenship applications. I got a decision, but I haven't received the Oath Letter, I thought it was going to be ready today. And I see that is consistent with the Kitchener office... They finish all the analysis.... but then it can take months for the next step (OL and CI).

Of course 99% of the calls are for files that are "on time" within the 27 month processing time. I think that's why they extended the processing time to 27 months, so they can tell people they are all "within processing timelines" :D
