I got a work permit approved dec 27 last year. They likely only really close on the actual holidays.

Also, I don’t believe many people will use their vacation days now during COVID and travel restrictions. I surely will not..
Thanks for your encouraging note.

@legalfalcon
sir i want to ask some questions, my AOR is 19 Nov, 2019 in FSW-O category, i just got married on 16th December, i informed cic via webform, Now my agent is saying that my spouse needs to add my name in spouse category in his passport and also we want to change his signatures on passport.
But my spouse is a government employee and he is currently posted in another state, we asked passport department and they are saying they need his address proof for that state and passport will be issued on that address. My questions are:-
1. will it create any issue if his passport would be issued with that temporary address, where he is currently residing on rent?
2. how much time cic will give us to provide for his documents? because his lease deed for address proof for his current address is not yet updated in that particular department and it will take some time.
3. can we ask for extension of time in case we would not be able to prepare documents within the time given by them?
thanks in advance

Unfortunately what your agent is saying is incorrect. There is no requirement to add your spouse's name to the passport and neither is it required by IRCC. Also there is no requirement to have address on the passport. Your passport can have any address and most international passport do not have address at all.

IRCC usually provides 60 days and you can ask for extension if required.

Thank you soo much sir for making me feel relaxed, it's a great sense of relief that we can apply for extension if his documents would not be readily available.
Thanks a lot for your help sir

If you are following Canadian news, Most of Ontario is under a lockdown, including Ottawa. Most IRCC offices are closed or working with bare minimum staff required for essential services.

Also, due to travel restrictions, most applicants who have their applications approved are not receiving PPRs and this will continue until Feb - March.
Thanks. How about inland applicants. Guyes and @legalfalcon, do you think there will be chance to get copr by Jan or will be everything in March?

Estimating is all speculation. However, in the last few days, many inland applicants have started recieving COPRs.

@legalfalcon since our PR application is taking ages, I have come across this:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/service-delivery/coronavirus/temporary-residence/work-permit/changing-employment.html#s432

it looks like according to above I can change the employer-specific work permit (i am on LMIA Work Permit in Canada) which will have no impact on my PR application aor 28 Nov 2019 FSW, I also assume that by changing my employer there will no effect on my spouse open work permit.

Please confirm/advice. Thanks

I received a GU today and my medicals expired on Dec 18th. However, no changes to my applications. It still says "You passed the medical exam" and not "You dont need a medical exam etc..."

AOR: Dec 2019
COR: India
Stream: FSW-O

Any idea why ? I just hope this doesn't reflect negatively on my application. I had also applied for GCMS notes on Nov 11th. Haven't received it yet.

I think those who have been approved (based on the GCMS notes) will no longer be required to do remedicals. Personal thoughts? My medicals expired last Nov 29. Still no update.

When will they send us ppr mail ? Its really getting frustrating... its been more than a year now. A lot of my plans are getting delayed due to this.
A lot of room for speculations considering the pandemic is far from over. Now here you are looking towards a delay of at least 3-4 months more (maybe a start of Q2-2021) as of now. I know it's depressing, even I have my entire life on hold due to this. I just keep on delaying things thinking when all this will end and I get the PPR mail. As somebody recently mentioned in this group, we can't just stay like this anymore, we have to move forward with our lives and stop expecting that the mail will come even in 2021.

At least we have this forum and each other to discuss this stuff. Let's pause our expectations for a couple of quarters and stop living in uncertainty.

Cheers! :)

If I am honest I see a delay for further 8 months before we see PPR, Ontario is in lock down, every week take Ottawa office 1 month delay so a 4 week lock down is 4 month delay plus another 4 months for IRCC attitude towards resolving issues, so 8 months in my books ....
