Yes, I was a permanent resident in Russia during my federal process (but I'm not Russian citizen). They transferred my file to VO according to the current place of residence.

Oh that's interesting actually. I don't know anything about Cairo's processing times, but maybe it's mostly VOs that are on the slow side, because they don't want the medical results to expire while they're still working? Just a theory!

That is usually the case. They get ties in once you have done your medicals cos of the expiration. Most slow VOs prefer to control that. Likely we will end up in LVO in our case if not haven't been moved already. Then everything goes into radio silence for a length of time.

I lived in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg. These cities are very-very far from the rest of Russia (I traveled a lot due to my job)... What I would say, that was a great experience for me. Nature is various. People are different.... All the rest I don't even want even touch here on forum, sorry.
But I'd recommend everyone to visit Moscow and Saint-Petersburg, as a touristic places they are nice! But be careful!

From the tracker, all of November's applicant's have had AOR, minus one or two that were returned back or additional documents have been requested.

When did you contact CIC? Was it via the webform?

Finally, try logging in to ECAS with the receipt number from your payment, it'll be a letter followed by nine digits. Use that and your sponsor's details:

That’s positive news. They’ve confirmed they have it and it’s in order so hopefully now you’re just waiting for AOR.

People that applied after you and missed things have had their applications sent back to them in January - so I’d take that as a positive and hope that your application is maybe slightly tricky and AOR is on its way.

If you’re still a little worried I’d give them a call on Friday and just ask for an update and if they can definitely confirm that it’s not been returned to you etc. It’ll at least remove the anxiety and stress you feel... we’ve all been there so totally understand how you feel.

I'm in almost same situation like you. Sent some docs thru and now wait to see if they will take it over or i have to wait again 2 months. Fingers crossed

I been trying to call all the numbers of IOM why not working?? do they have cut off on making appointment?

IOM has a globe number you can SMS and they will respond with what information they want. I booked completely with SMS

As per your timeline in the signature: MVO is Mississauga. My question is that will your file be transferred to a Local Visa Office for further visa processing or will the PR be processed in Mississauga?
