Actually there is one more CIO in Ottawa

From what I read usually applications from all streams are processed at CIO in Sydney and Ottawa. From there they are distributed to different VOs to split the workload.

CEC applicants are usually processed within Canada and for FSW-O it is usually done at their nearest VO.
Yesterday I read that they send to local VO if you answer yes to statutory questions such as "Have you been refused a visa?" etc. Otherwise, they finalize at CIO, I wonder if it's true.

I am an Inland applicant and my file's transferred to Edmonton. I know few others who applied through CEC and their file is processed within Canada.
Mine is in Winnipeg. Have you answered yes to any of the statutory questions?

Yes it is a possibility since local VOs have more knowledge about certain cases than CIO.

There was one guy talking about the trend, I can't find the source.

Anyone knows the difference between Criminality and security ? Which takes longer time ?
Criminality is your Police Certificates and checking whether you have committed any crimes.
Security is checking whether you're involved with extremists.

The security check takes longer for applications from Islamic countries and Middle East.

As per immitracker, quite a few folks have got PPR.

Mostly, CEC and inland applicants. A handful of folks from FSW-O have received PPR, I guess they have no travel history which is the reason for their speedy process.

For the rest of us we will have to wait till March at least to hear something positive :(
