Hello All,
I completed oath taking yesterday at the Mississauga center.
This brings me to the end of my Canadian citizenship journey.
Thank you everyone for your updates and information, they sure helped at those times when it felt like nothing was moving.
Have a good one everyone.

Hi,

Completed the Oath ceremony yesterday (Dec 20th) at Mississauga. The application process took about 13 and half months for me. (They received my application on November 10, 2017).

The whole journey from PR Application (April 2010) to Canadian Citizenship lasted about 8 and half years. For some of you, the journey might have been quicker, and for the rest of you- it might be slower (but y'all will complete your journey just like the rest of us).

This forum has been very helpful for both my PR and Citizenship applications, and I'd like to thank every single member out here who had responded to my queries or have constructively contributed to the trove of knowledge out here.

Good luck to everyone.

Hi Guys, thank you for the help.
I did my test on October 3rd, 2018, Decision Made October 4th.
November 29th received an invitation for Oath.
December 18th, 2018 Oath. Mississauga even if I live 3 minutes from Etobicoke.
December 21st applied for the passport.
Jan 9th I should receive it.

Almost 14 months.
Everything smooth.

Please update the spreadsheet.

Now applying for my son, waiting for another official true copy translation for his birth certificate. I really don't understand why I sent 2 times and this is the third official true copy that cost money. But anyway, they are right and I'm wrong.

I'm glad that now I'm Canadian, grateful but finally, I can speak my mind, this is not a perfect country at all, but probably the less bad of a terrible world, sorry my frustration.

Good luck everyone.

Joe.

Is there anyone who is still waiting for invitation for test? I am from Mississauga
I am... My application processing supposedly stated on Feb 2, 2018, and I'm still waiting to receive the test date. I'm leaving Canada for over a month in March, and I'm desperately looking for a way to take my test soon, lest the date would be for when I'm gone otherwise.
Iranian citizen

Any tips? :(

I got an email and a call for my citizenship oath ceremony which will be on January 22, 2018. Please update my profile. :) Good luck every one! :)

I'm just curious. For my citizenship oath ceremony, in the "Notice to Appear" it has mentioned that "All of the Original documents..." does it mean that I should bring all of the documents which I have submitted in my Citizenship Application like IELTS, Notice of Assessment etc or just COPR and PR Card would be enough, apart from the 2 pieces of Personal Identifications?

All original which you have submitted.
