Congrats, updated the sheetStays updated to DM for my father.
I went IP on Feb 6 and got test invite on May 2. IRCC Ottawa is issuing invites by email so keep an eye on your inbox and spam folder. You should get it by the end of this month hopefully.Still no update. Been "In Process" since Feb 13, 2018. No test invite. I applied at the ottawa center since thats where i live, really suprised it's so slow here..starting to feel concered now..
This is an asshole officer. Some officers are grumpy and in order to assert their authority making things complicated and delaying things. My fathers is 80+ and the ofiicer told him that some seniors do not become citizen as during the oath ceremony they are not able to repeat the oath after the judge. I told that I will practice with him before the ceremony and she said he must be able to understand what the judge is saying and repeat after him. My father speaks good English but he has issues understanding different English accents and of course age is a factor as well and he does not pick up things fast and his hearing problem makes thing more complicated.
I can hope that that story's simply being inaccurately reported due to some kind of misunderstanding. If it is accurate, however, then that's a clear case of reportable & duly prosecutable Elder Abuse, and the officer who treated the gentleman in this way would certainly lose her/his job. This is an asshole officer.
Congrats, updated the sheet. Good luck for the test.I'm a bit late with my updates. Got the letter for the test/interview on April 30th, test date May 24th.
This is not reported inaccurately. I was present in the office with my father at the interview. I was just surprised that the officer mentioned that some seniors do not get citizenship as they are not able to repeat. From what I recall during my oath ceremony there was a group of around 80 people in the hall and all took the oath at the same time. How can the officer find out who is repeating and if they are repeating correctly in that crowd?I can hope that that story's simply being inaccurately reported due to some kind of misunderstanding. Updated. Congrats!!After 94 days I just received my test invite a few minutes ago to appear at Surrey IRCC June 20 @ 8:30am. Glad to finally get to this step, now to start restudying the guide.
If they really want to, they can. Technology nowadays can do lots of things... The cheap way is have officers randomly pay attention to some applicants' lips and voice...This is not reported inaccurately. I was present in the office with my father at the interview. I just don’t like filing a complaint against anyone unless it goes to extreme and may be that is my mistake.

Yes that is possible and a viable solution. If they really want to, they can. Technology nowadays can do lots of things... The cheap way is have officers randomly pay attention to some applicants' lips and voice...
