"By file is complete" they probably literally meant that basic completion checks on it were successful. Background checks are more involved, and include security and criminality checks done by RCMP and CSIS. These can take a while, depending on the applicant's background.I called IRCC few weeks ago and I was told that my file is complete and passed all checks, however, today I was told that my file is still in process and under the background check when I called them this morning. it's sooooo frustrating and I don't know what's going on!!!
I read this here in the forum and understand it, that's why my question was very clear to him at the first call (does that mean I passed all checks including the background check) his answer was clearly YES and added that everything looks fine in your file and the next step gonna be the test invitation!!!"By file is complete" they probably literally meant that basic completion checks on it were successful. Well if it's one thing we know from this forum is that these call center agents aren't very well trained and are unreliable. No point in calling them. Just gotta wait patiently, and you'll get through the process. I waited close to 2.5 months after IP to get test invite. And still have to wait another 5-8 months for the entire process to finish.I read this here in the forum and understand it, that's why my question was very clear to him at the first call (does that mean I passed all checks including the background check) his answer was clearly YES and added that everything looks fine in your file and the next step gonna be the test invitation!!!
Im not worry about the checks they can take their time but why they give different info especially I'm not the only one with this incidence!!
Thx @razerblade
I totally agree with you about the call center's agents, but sometime you have no other choice especially when you know that the local office doesn't receive inquires over phone. I called just because I wanted to make sure that my contact info are updated since I have an issue with the postal mail. Thank you again for the support that I needed after the shock I got today after the phone call . Just be glad it's the last time we're dealing with IRCC. Good luck
Eh, seems like legit idea!both of you will get test invite.....i have already made arrangements.
I should have done it earlier and listened to @thegentleman and sent IRCC - cartons of beer! or BC wine!
From looking at how fast Edmonton is processing the October applicants, I'm guessing by mid March we should be seeing test invites, but that's just an estimated guess based on the average processing time for October.Seems like no one from November 2017 applicants with Edmonton center got his `test invitation. Anyone?
Updated. Congrats!!Please update.
My file is in process now.
