Hi,

I saw this message today in my ECAS:

1. We sent you correspondence on February 1, 2018. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required

Does anyone know what it means?

Most likely a finger print request - you need to wait for that letter.

Dude! you need to figure out how to frame your question. Talk to a lawyer - you sound "guilty" just by saying what you said.

My status has been in process for 5 weeks now, and there is no any update. Calgary office!

I would like to share my story.

I have spent enough days base on the new bill, In Nov, I submitted my application through the agent/lawyer and just last week, he informed me that immigration canada is missing my IELTS result, I clearly remember i gave him already, anyway i requested a new one and will soon drop it off to him again in person.

my question is as i go through an agent or lawyer as my representative, am i able to check any status on ECAS , i start to wonder if my lawyer lied to me since i haven't received any email from immigration canada however he said he received a letter from immigration canada saying i am missing the IELTS result.

anyone has a thought or situation that you hire a lawyer for the application, thanks a lot for sharing

Better ask the lawyer to show you the letter from IRCC, 50-50, returned application or IRCC asked for further information

Yep. I hope they'll kick him out of the country asap. If you look into his other posts, he is talking about going through the process just for his kids while he is going back to India. no remorse or apology, but a lot of "?????????" as he thinks it will get a faster or better response.Don't feel bad about Judging,perception is reality as you said. Someone that is innocent doesn't go into a forum and asks if he can still become a citizen.Obviously not the sharpest tool in the box.

Thanks for the response, so it's random to ask for fingerprints? I do not see a column in the spreadsheet for finger prints request.

Citizenship

1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on November 8, 2017.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on January 2, 2018.
3. We started processing your application on January 25, 2018

My concern is that I did not get the correspondence that's mentioned on January 2. Is the correspondence on mail or on email? I checked and I haven't received either. Should I be concerned? Who can I contact to have it resent? I checked my address on file is correct.

Thanks for the response, so it's random to ask for fingerprints? I do not see a column in the spreadsheet for finger prints request.

you are right, there isnt a column in the spreadsheet. As far as we know it appears that people are randomly selected or if their name sounds similar or DOB is same to other applicant etc. It is nothing to worry about - just a bit of a hastle really - to get it done.

Let us know when the letter arrives and you get the fp done - we will update the notes section of your entry in the spreadsheet.

if you have provided email in your application - the AOR (#2) on ECAS will be sent as an email. IF no email has been provided then it is a snail mail.
The AOR email has the application number - you can call CIC and get it from the call center folks, that is a good information to get. The rest of the information in the email is general stuff.
