I don't really understand my status change.

for background check : "not applicable"- i think before it read not started or not needed at this time
for final decision : "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made."

so does that mean they're conducting back ground check or not?
what does background check "not applicable" mean....

I am a December applicant and my account looks the same as yours - background check "Not applicable." For us, a couple of weeks ago my husband (the PA) got a request by email to resend a document we had made a mistake on. I'm guessing that's where the glitch is coming from for us, since our background check was "In progress" before this and switched back to "Not needed at this time" when they made the request. I assume our background check was started but then put on hold so we're kinda in between statuses?

I'd suggest checking any email addresses you have connected to the application to see if they've asked for anything. We got the document request only through HIS email, not through any of the online accounts or anything, so I wouldn't have known about it if he didn't see it in his email.

my husband and i have been checking our emails since day one... it's now routine ;D.
doesn't seem like any documents were requested since requested document section is also NA; which was blank before.

I agree with PRVC, i wish they would 'dumb down' and clearly indicate the status to not cause confusin

Our application was received on November 25. We just got DM on ECAS this morning ;D

Hello,

My partner today received an email today saying that our application has been approved!! When I log onto CIC, for DM, it still says in progress. Does this not update right away?

-Also what's left, the passport request? what exactly does that entail? Anyone else in Ottawa office got DM and now PPR? We're just very excited and are trying to figure out our timeline.

And if anyone else has sent in PPR already, how long was it till you got COPR?

Just wondering how we know that documents or correspondence was received by CIC? On Feb 15 they emailed me to request a copy of my FBI certificate and I emailed back immediately. On Feb 16 they requested more information related to sponsor's (my husband) intent to settle in Canada, also replied with lots of information immediately. Last week I submitted a request for address change, as we're in transition for our move now. I always receive the automated email reply, but nothing has changed on my status on the On-Line Services application status check page. Guess I'm getting antsy since we're about to move, but wondered if there's a way to know that everything was received. Thank you all!
