Thank you for the reply.

However, how can i check the status of my application without using the UCI number? I want to use the Application Number instead. Because I'm using the UCI to check my permanent residence card renewal status.

You could try selecting "Immigration File Number / Application Number" from the Identification Type drop down list on the ecas page and see if that works.

From what I know, the Immigration File number is for the PR application. For the Citizenship applications, you have to select Citizenship File number.

Messi,
Have they mentioned a date for starting processing your application as they did in my ECAS update?
I have noticed from other applicant's posts that the time from the date of starting processing the application until the file transfer is not that long. Can anyone advise on this please?

Nov 06 2014,

No my application is still Received, it didn't switch to be In Process so there is no any date when did they start processing my application.
For the time between the processing and transferring to local office I guess it might take around a month and from there it is the local office turn, some of them are faster than the others. Mine is the slowest, it is Ottawa >:( >:(

I just received my AOR -

Application received - Nov 6th
AOR received - Jan 28th

Now to start reading the Discover Canada guide in real earnest. :)

One neat thing that I discovered on the CIC website is an audio version of the guide which is very handy when you're travelling or have some spare time on your hands. This is on the CIC website at the following location (I'm not allowed to post links >:() -

/EnGlish/department/media/multimedia/audio/discover/index.asp

Good luck to everyone who's waiting for their acknowledgement, it shouldn't be long.

I also check my email 100 times a day Lol.
AOR means that they have opened the application and assigned a file number and it is sure that the application is complete and it won't be returned back.
They may ask you more documents in future though.
