I was told by an immigration lawyer that they want specifics about ALL travels outside Canada since birth (not just the times you RESIDED outside Canada). For instance I lived in Japan for 3 years, but I listed every time I had traveled to Japan as well as other countries, complete with dates, hotel addresses, and phone numbers. The lawyer approved of this. The lawyer also told me that one of her client's applications was sent back because he had been a bush pilot in northern Canada and one time had to camp in the wilderness in Alaska, and was unable to provide an address. The CIC requested the latitude/longitude coordinates of the place he camped. I found this a little unbelievable but it is exactly what I heard from the lawyer.
I wonder if CIC looks at applications submitted with a designated (lawyer) representative differently than others? Perhaps CIC knows that lawyers will search for the most inane loop hole should it come to an appeal, and therefore they in turn go overboard on their analysis? Could that explain why the lawyer is insisting on so much detail and inadvertently ramping up the cat & mouse game? I couldn't remember the phone number I had when I lived in Europe, and said that on the form. If they send back my application because of that I will go berserk!

Hi guys, I am also a November 2013 outland applicant. No news for me, either.
Here's my timeline

Visa Office: Bucharest
Meds Done 29.10.2013
App Filed 1.11.2014
App Received 14.11.2013

No idea when the file was transferred. No AOR.
Not much energy left for hoping.
I wish all the best to all of you.

Have you tried following up with the Visa office in Bucharest?

Yes, we have asked for the notes in our file twice, once they got the notes on my husband's sponsorship approval instead of my file, the second time we got it right. No big issues in the file, just a note that they asked me to send again one of the forms with all the addresses I have had since I was 18 instead of the past 10 years as we filled it in originally. Unfortunately I got no message whatsoever and my husband's e-mail was incorrect in the file. Of course I have sent that form again as soon as I found out about it but no answer to that either.

This is an outland thread....

Hi!

I just foudn this thread. I have posted a few times (in other threads), but this one is just perfect!

I am Canadian and my husband is British. We applied outland on the 02nd of November 2013. Got my Canadian sponsorship approval in December 2013 and the Quebec one in February 2014.

We have now been waiting ever since. However, on Monday this week, my husband got an email from the London Office (High Commission of Canada) asking him to send them a paper copy of his Certificate of Selection of Quebec. We really are not impressed as this probably will delay the receipt of his PR... Ridiculous that the Quebec Government couldn't tell us that this particular office (London) requires a paper copy despite the fact they receive one automatically (electronically). Very frustrating to say the least!!

Well, Katezinha, at least you heard something... We heard nothing. This thread is not so much alive but I will keep you company.

It's true that it appears very quiet!

Well, hearing something in our case meant a further delay... Due to Government incompetency. We are really not impressed!

Katezinha, someone pointed out on another thread that this is a relatively short period of time, if you consider your whole life. I find that hard to accept, as I have to take each day as it comes and stay sane with two young kids and almost no help.
I understand your frustration.
In my case, they claim they asked me to send them a form in January but I had no idea about that until May. I did send that form, had no reply, no answer whatsoever... What can I say? From what I have seen, it usually takes 9-10 months to hear from them, one way or another. Now, count 9 months since your file was sent to the visa office and hang on to that hope. It will end sooner or later :)
