They took 35 day to return my application form. My appl was first received on 13 nov and I received it on 16 dec.

I have already sent my app(Nov 8th) and got AOR as some of you already know.

Just wanted to reconfirm my calculation of hours worked and mentioned in my app, so as to avoid any rejection after a year. If I am short, I will send another app and get previous one recalled.

1. 30th April 2013 - 24th March 2013 : NOC 6314 : Part-time
Total : 612.25 hours
Avg: 12.5/week

2. 18th May 2013 - Ongoing, NOC 2282 Part time
Total:623.21 hours(Till app filed), avg: 12.5/week

3. 25th March 2013 - Ongoing (40 hours/week, full time) NOC 2281
Total hours till app filed(Nov 9th) : 1120(28 weeks*40hours)
If i go by 30 hour weekly as per CEC then 840 hours for the 7 months.

Even though I am in IT, my math is bad
So can someone please comment if the above is okay or should I consider filing another one.

you need 52 weeks 30 hours worked each or more.

In my opinion you do not have it. You both part time jobs do not give you 30 hours a week.

There are lots of confusions though.

If I were you I would apply now and in March again.

1.I am a bit worried now, even if i don't have 30 hours per week, isn't the calculation: cumulative hours divided by 30 hours per week to see how many weeks of full time employment you have?

2. So if an individual has part-time 24 hours per week of employment for say 1 year or more. It is not 30 hours per week so does that mean that the experienced gained and the hours worked can't be accounted towards CEC application?

3. If I go per your suggestion of sending another app in March, do i have let CEC know that i am sending 2 apps? is the simultaneous processing of 2 applications okay or should i withdraw the first one? I have to pay another $550 but that is not a big concern.

Please advise

Which says :

For the Canadian Experience Class full, Full time equivalence, or 1,950 hours of paid employment over a period at least of 12 months will also be considered

-----------Is that an old op-25a manual as it says 37.5 hours is needed?

I looked at it like this:

Total for CIC is 12 months full time work or part time equivalent in the past 3 years on application date.
So total hours needed is 1560.
7 months @ 30 hour week (anything above 30 hours isn't counted unfortunately) = 840 (as you listed)
This means the part time work has to be at least 720 hours. (1560-840) - you make this up across both your part time jobs so in my mind you qualify.

Yes that is what I thought lpc and filed my application with confidence. But recently went through a couple of rejection for forum members(not related) and don't want to be in a situation of having rejection in my hand after an year or so.

Should I talk to a lawyer about this? Do you know any good ones with in depth knowledge?

its your decision on whether you want to talk to a lawyer - personally I'd wait a few days and see what others think about your timeline - - it's Boxing Day today so not many people are online - next week it'll be busier

As per the link byrwus suggested its has a post by LPS: See also http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=718&t=6 "What does equal amount of part-time work experience mean?"

In which it states : If you worked part time for less than 30 hours per week, add up the number of hours you worked to make up 1,560 hours total. For instance, if you worked part time for 15 hours per week over a period of two years, you would have the equivalent of one year of full-time experience.

A bit confused now with a mixed reply.

Need both 1560 hours and 1yr. That will qualified if you finished 1560 in six month still need to qualified for 12 month requirement.
