Received my PR Visa in the mail today. Now We just have to "land" even though we will be driving down to the states and back. Its a great feeling and I hope the rest of the process for everyone else is a smooth one. Thank you all for the support, I would have gone mad without this forum!! ;D ;D ;D ;D :P

also braziliangirl, i have seen those same spammers on here. the one i saw was absolutely ridiculous, i'm sure it was someones account that just got hacked but either way, it was someone trying to advertise for fake passports. i dont think there's anything we could do about it though : (

Mel Grover, happy landing and welcome to Canada!!!

moidyn, hope you get your COPR very very soon!!

bscinto92, I've noticed the spams were gone by night. At first, I didn't know it was spams, but it was freaking me out!

To everybody else, good luck to all of us!
And remember, patience is a virtue! (I gotta remind myself all the time! Hehehe)

Everything I've seen on this forum suggests that OHIP doesn't provide coverage until 3 months post-landing. If you're curious about what you heard, give OHIP a call. (You don't have to give your name.) In BC MSP will provide coverage once you get sponsorship approval (plus the customary 3 months), but it's explicit and there's an article about it on the MSP website.

Oooh hey thanks for that, I'm in BC so that's helpful to know!! Are you in the Lower Mainland?!!

So for those of you who have finished the process, how long after your passport request did you receive your COPR?!

address changed today...here is the timeline for my wife:

April 17 processing (as per ecas description)
April 20 In Process (ecas)
April 23 Decision Made (ecas, no address change)
April 26 Address Changed (ecas)

I hope this helps...I will update once I hear about the passport

Congradulations all the best

FYI the MSP article is: http://www.health.gov.bc.ca/msp/infoben/pdf/covering-a-spouse-or-child-who-is-an-applicant-for-permanent-resident-status-in-canada.pdf

Yup, we're in Richmond. Are you in Vancouver?

Yup we're out in Maple Ridge! I've been to the night market out in Richmond, so cool and mmmmm food!! I was trying to convince my wife to more closer to the city BUT we want to start trying to get pregnant next year and we can have way more space for less money out this way, which is probably better if we have a kid lol. My city friends are like, "The burbs, ugh!" but I like it out here. We've got a great farmers market, lots of plays and artsy things and some nice eateries as well. We can still get to the city if we need to lol
