I guess the actual process has just begun. Hopefully another 3-4 months

I wish that was true. But for New Delhi Visa office the passport request comes before they do all the background checks and determine the genuiness of the relationship.
The email says that this passport request does not guarantee the issuance of visa.

Lets see how long it takes from here, but i guess this is beginning towards the end of process

Well I pray we land around the same time or you before. My email said the same thing they don't guarantee a visa, blah blah blah. You will be fine.

congrats karan1916, no matter how much longer it takes... thats another step closer and that's great. i like to think of things this way lately... if you don't hear from CIC through most of your process, then that's probably a good thing because that means they're not questioning if the relationship is genuine or not or looking for something you forgot to include with your application. if you do hear from CIC, it's more than likely going to be because something was incomplete in your application, something was missing or they see lots of red flags (which i dont see happen too often) ... so basically my point is, as much as it sucks to wait and not hear anything in between and kinda be left hangin..... no contact from CIC could mean your application was put together well and there's no doubts about it which in my book is a good thing : D! lol.... just a little theory of mine i guess i just get too deep in thought about these kinds of things.

As for me, I'm here going a little insane because hubby is leaving Brazil in a week. I've asked for a Visitor Visa to go back with him and wait for the process there in Canada, but we still haven't heard anything about it... =/
I hope everything goes well! We have been away from each other for 8 months in the past, and I don't wanna stay away from him again!

Has the Canadian spouse contacted CIC yet? There was a big delay on sponsorship approval for several of us November applicants, but I think almost everyone has gotten approval now. You should contact CIC immediately, possibly your Member of Parliament.

It looks like some October applicants are getting passport requests! Exciting!

Has anyone's ECAS gone from "Application Received" to "In Process?" Anything about "Documentation Verified" or whatnot? Nothing's happened on mine since early February. I figured that's normal, but I'm curious.
