So this whole process, landing included for me, took just under 8 months. SOOOO much less time than i ever even imagined it would take. I am so proud of my husband and I for getting through such a hard time. We had so many rough patches through this process that I almost thought we weren't going to make it because we were losing our patience. I could only imagine how much harder it is for those who have to wait a year or even MORE! It has definitely had its ups and downs but now that it's finally reached the end I realized how worth it it really is to just wait it out.
As for my landing, it was just about the most simple thing i've ever had to do. They didnt ask me a single question about anything other than where my home address is in Canada so they could mail my PR card to me. Just took my documents, told me what theyre doing with them, had me sign a few things and told me when I'd be getting my PR card. I thought theyd at least ask a few personal questions about my relationship with my husband just to verify but I guess my application must have been pretty convincing lol. And maybe its different driving over but they l;iterally did not look through a single thing that I brought with me. My father was with me because we drove up in his car, and it was jam packed with all my personal belongings and my cat and they didnt even ask to search the vehicle, I was extremely surprised. They also didnt even look at the papers that I got for the cat!! Which i thought they had to.... I guess it's all just personal choice lol. The officers were all very polite and easy going for me, and aside from the 9 hours drive, the landing process only took about 20 minutes or less. I'm relieved but also dissappointed that I prepared so much and found out I really didn't have to, but that's just me I always over do everything just in case hahaha. Well! So much for all that worrying I did over these past 7 months lol, worked myself up for nothing! But i cant complain i guess, I should be happy it was as easy as it was lol. Now i should go start applying for a SIN card and health insurance! So happy to be back here! I can't wait to hear everyone elses landing stories!!! Please share when you do! : )
