We didn't pay it when we applied in November. June 26 a letter came in the mail for us to pay the rprf. I paid the fee online June 11 so it was like I was reading their mind lol. Now I wonder what the wait time would be for them to request the passport. I would sudjust you pay the rprf fee now so there won't be any delays. I was reading somewhere if the visa office asks for you to pay the fee there is a 3 month hold on your application. I don't know how true this is but that's what I was trying to void.

Status has been updated to Decision Made!!

"A decision has been made on (...) application. The
office will contact (...) concerning this decision." (Paris Office)

My partner is from a visa exempt in Europe, no interview was requested, and the passport either.

I don't see any reason for the decision not being positive. How will the office contact us? By mail (post)? How long should it take from here?

I am excited :D

Congrats! I agree it must be good news. About informing you - it really depends on the visa office or the person dealing with the paperwork. Our VO called AND emailed the principal applicant. There might be a Paris VO thread where you could get a better idea what they do.

Hi everyone! Long time no talk! Seems like a few more people have received some more good news so i want to say congratulations to you guys first, kevs congratulations on the status change, after you see decision made everything starts to come up SUPER fast.

Ive been waiting to post my timeline because I wanted to wait til ihad my landing date. And finally! I have officially landed on June 29th, 2013! So heres my timeline to give you all a look at the time frame in case anyone feels like this process is going nowhere (i promise you it is, so much easier said than done though):

Visa Office: Los Angeles
Medicals Done: August 15th, 2012
Application Sent: October 30th, 2012
Application Received: November 1st, 2012
File Transfer: December 9th, 2012
Passport Request: May 6th, 2013
Visa Issued: May 31st, 2013 (I received it in the mail on June 10th though)
LANDED: June 29th, 2013 via the Peace Bridge in Ontario!!

So this whole process, landing included for me, took just under 8 months. SOOOO much less time than i ever even imagined it would take. I am so proud of my husband and I for getting through such a hard time. We had so many rough patches through this process that I almost thought we weren't going to make it because we were losing our patience. I could only imagine how much harder it is for those who have to wait a year or even MORE! It has definitely had its ups and downs but now that it's finally reached the end I realized how worth it it really is to just wait it out.

As for my landing, it was just about the most simple thing i've ever had to do. They didnt ask me a single question about anything other than where my home address is in Canada so they could mail my PR card to me. Just took my documents, told me what theyre doing with them, had me sign a few things and told me when I'd be getting my PR card. I thought theyd at least ask a few personal questions about my relationship with my husband just to verify but I guess my application must have been pretty convincing lol. And maybe its different driving over but they l;iterally did not look through a single thing that I brought with me. My father was with me because we drove up in his car, and it was jam packed with all my personal belongings and my cat and they didnt even ask to search the vehicle, I was extremely surprised. They also didnt even look at the papers that I got for the cat!! Which i thought they had to.... I guess it's all just personal choice lol. The officers were all very polite and easy going for me, and aside from the 9 hours drive, the landing process only took about 20 minutes or less. I'm relieved but also dissappointed that I prepared so much and found out I really didn't have to, but that's just me I always over do everything just in case hahaha. Well! So much for all that worrying I did over these past 7 months lol, worked myself up for nothing! But i cant complain i guess, I should be happy it was as easy as it was lol. Now i should go start applying for a SIN card and health insurance! So happy to be back here! I can't wait to hear everyone elses landing stories!!! Please share when you do! : )

oh yeah and ive been logged into this website for 2 days, 1 hour and 24 minutes.... feels like ive been on here for 7 years lmao
