Hi! Just a quick question. Would the officer let us know if my documents were incomplete? My consultant told me that he hasn't received any AOR yet. I am a September 29th applicant and im starting to get anxious.

I think I woundn't the have any problems with the documents as I've submitted all the required ones. My IELTS will expire on December 6 but I've booked an exam this October 29.

Seniors, please advise.

Thank you!

Hi stephny,

Personally I feel that the Visa officer will not consider mutual funds or shares as financial proofs as markets trends are not fixed. Their value can vary by the day or by the hour even. So, there is likelihood that it might not be accepted. But there is no harm in adding these docs as your proof of finance. Though, do not consider them to be your primary docs. They can just be add-ons.

Regards,
Ritz.
thats not true ritawallu, mutual funds and shares are accepted please read the application guide carefully before giving your advice to people

I had an issue with my reference letters and the officer not just asked me a new one, as she guided me on how I should do to get them to fit CIC's standard.

Hello everyone

It seems many guys have problem to understand what is POF. As everyone can read in the guide NSOI clearly defines in what forms it could be which are mentioned in three bullets.
But I would like everyone to give attention to highlighted portions:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These funds must be "unencumbered" by debts or obligations (i.e., not real estate), "transferable" and "available" to you. These funds cannot be borrowed

These funds could be in the form of:
 Cash
 Documents that show property or capital payable to you (such as stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills, etc.) or
 Documents that guarantee payment of a set amount of money, which are payable to you (such as bankers’ drafts, cheques, travellers’ cheques or money orders)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So "could be" means optional things technically it no where mention that you must show your POF in that form. lets go with each option one by one.

First option is "CASH", Now if we say its mentioned in guide that we can show POF in the form of cash , Do anyone think it is acceptable form?????? if you compare this option with red color paragraph Do you have any option to prove that the cash is yours its not borrowed.

Second option is Documents that show property, stocks, bond etc.. again if you will compare this option with red color paragraph, Do anyone can provide that the amount of that property is readily available or transferable to you, forget about nomination officer, Ask yourself can you sell your property in one day ? Or if we talk about stocks can you guess exact potential amount you will get back when you will need that and it would be equal to the amount of required amount to settle as mentioned in guide as per your family member.
Somebody says fixed deposits: if your fixed deposit are for five years how you can expect that it would be acceptable as POF and also if you says that you can break your FD any time do you provide them this condition in authorized way ? FD: means fixed deposits thats it they do not know and they do not care what kind of FDs in India or any country even me do not know about "Tax Saver term" I know there are some facilities Auto Sweep and you get more interest plus bank deduct tax on the interest and again it called Fixed Deposit we know the term conditions but how Canada will know and I am sure each country has different terms and conditions and they are not bank employee what they want just proof in writing if you say its encashable anytime ok provide in writing that is fine.

Third option they clearly mentioned guarantee payment of set amount of money which is payable to you.
But again if you compare this from red color paragraph you have to prove also that you did not borrow it but as you will see the option they give like draft so whenever you will make draft bank will make it through account.

So finally what I do understand that whatever required amount to settle you and your family they mentioned in NSOI guide must be in your account and why they ask 3 month or 6 month bank statement and all these options mentioned in three bullets are mainly help you to convince officer your economical background that you are economically strong enough to have that amount which is required to settle you and your family in Canada.
Their main target is to check your economical background as if that amount is really required by them to settle you and your family in Canada I am pretty much sure they definitely change the requirement they may say that you must have transfer and fix this money in Canadian account or they could say that you must have this money when you will come to canada etc... As they have this kind of rule for study visa to deposit security money something like that. But Permanent resident visa they just ask proof nothing more than that I do not think anyone bring that amount to Canada.

I hope you guys understand what they are looking for. Personally I do not know what they will accept or what they will not but what I understand and which make sense too I just explained here.

Moreover one thing which I do not understand whatever mentioned in red color paragraph, everyone can arrange that easily than what is the need to go with options which is provided in bullets.
I always read and act accordingly to what is mentioned under "must be " without even looking what mentioned under "could be".

regards
D

Appeal to other factors, such as Nova Scotia's lifestyle, natural beauty, cuisine... It must be something personal, as there is no established formula for that. You can show that you have learned a lot more about Canada since then. Think as if you were applying to a job! But be sure to get to know something about the city where you want to settle before answering.
Do you think they are negative abt my application?

Draj. i commend you for always taking out time to respond to questions and comments on this forum.. i bet it is not an easy task. weldone. well. guys/ladies.. there will always be confusion because too many people ask the same question in different ways. however, i believe in explanations to "open" and debatable issues such as this. i have the required proof of funds (i even have in excess)..i started saving more of my salaries and allowances immediately after applying last year. i have consolidated my wife's money and my children into one (all in my name)..POF is in FD, Insurance certificate, shares and cash. and all these are eligible. when my time comes, i will explain these funds to the officer, how long i have saved them and also show them evidence that i can have them in cash at any time. so my advice is dont just rush to say how much you have in POF..just explain maybe the history of ur funds. you can also get your bank or fund manager to write to NSOI and include a clause that the investment can be cashed at any time..it is all doable. remb NSOI people do not care as Draj has put it.

all the best guys..

100% agree with you and this is what I did. Because if it is our money we have thousand evidence to prove it by showing history and thats what exactly NSOI want. They do not care where you invested they dont want you to sell your property they just want you to give a proof in writing in authorised way that the required amount is encashable anytime you need, and a history how did you earn this money.
Its so simple as Terik says I did exactly the same with my application. At time of submission I submitted everything FDs, saving account, PPF account. property documents.etc with transaction history where I can show them how and when I got all this money.

At the time when NSOI ask to give updated POF, just one letter from bank mentioning the required amount which is available in my account since more than a year and its readily available thats it and I already knew it that NSOI will ask that cause once they will see your history and they will get to know how and when did you get this money so your history is enough to satisfy them that all money is yours.
They ask you to provide update POF which means they just want to make sure you still have that money or not and that money is still readily available for you or not. They just want proof they do not want you to have that money in your hand.

Hi sheuly,

There is nothing about going negative. They always ask such questions regarding settlement plan. Just review on it clearly by searching more on it. You will get more points to mention the same if you search it clearly.
