Hey everyone -

OK, so I am SO close to being able to mail in my application for Common Law Sponsorship. I went to my bank today to have copies of my and my partner's passports certified as true copies. I get there, and the notary tells me that their by-laws have changed and that they cannot do certified true copies!

I looked online, and it's true - only certain states in the US allow notaries to do certified copies and my state (as well as neighboring states, I live close to a few state borders) is not one of them.

Any thoughts on what I can do?

Thanks so much!!

I don't recall needing "certified and true" copies of passport copies. is this something specific to the commonlaw application or new? this is not something i had to do for my application. please show where it states they must be certified.

CDNPR2014 - Holy crap! You're right, they don't need to be certified true copies! I must have misread the application guide - looks like I can get by with just a photocopy of my passport and birthcertificate - THANK YOU!
