Hi All,

I seem to have a peculiar problem. Meaning, i haven't found someone with the same issue i have, unless i haven't searched the forum correctly.

Could someone please provide some insights with regards to the information below?

1. My better half is the primary applicant.

2. We got the ITA in Jan of this year.

3. Completed full medicals on the 26th of Jan this year.

4. Submitted the profile in March this year.

5. Found out that my wife is pregnant and is due this December.

Problem:

If we ever get to the point where we receive the pr request, we might not be able to make a trip to Canada to complete the landing formalities since the baby is due in December and our medicals expire on the 25th of Jan 2018. The agency we have gone through recommend making a landing before the 25th of Jan next year if we get the pr.

I do not want to put my wife and my kid through a flight within a month of giving birth.

Would cic not have an option to redo the medicals when mum and baby have settled in a bit and then allow for completing the landing?

If not, is completing the landing formalities before next Jan the only way?

Thanks all.

Hi

Your situation is common enough. If your app is processed before the baby is born and your COPRs/visas are valid until Jan, you can delay landing. Once the baby is born, you can return your documents and add the baby to the application. IRCC will either request you to do medicals again or extend the validity of your current medical.

Thank you very much for the information. Will look into returning the docs and add the baby to the application.

A quick query, does anyone think that CiC can reject a profile due to us not being able to travel within the medical date expiry? Or do they see that we do have a valid reason for not being able to finish the landing formalities by next Jan? We are Indian citizens currently residing in London and we got the medicals done from London as well.

IRCC will not reject your app. They will issue your documents. If you fail to land by the expiry, you will need to start from the beginning. As I said, you need to add the baby after the birth so that IRCC can continue to process the app and reissue your new documents.

Thank you very much for responding sir. Just to make sure i understand this correctly.

If the profile for PR is successful, i believe cic will send out an email (anytime before December) and ask for the passports to be submitted, we should submit the passports and wait for it to be sent back to us with the stamping. Then once the baby is born, return the COPR letter to them and add the baby to the file and wait Cic to take a decision in terms of getting another medical done or extending it for another year. Am in understanding this correctly?

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
If your aor is march then most likely your ppr will issue by September. Depending on the pregnancy, you can consider soft landing in sept-oct and get your baby born there.

Thanks Chiptole, but we are currently on a work visa in London and due to work commitments, can't plan for a landing till next july anyway. So the delaying option looks better in the current situation.

With a bit of good luck, we have received the passport request today. The agency who is dealing in our case said the following:

"We suggest that you travel to Canada, make first entry and baby can be added into the application later."

When we spoke on the phone, she was saying that sponsorship is not required for the baby if we make a landing before delivery which is completely different from what i have read on these forums.

She was of the opinion that paperwork for the baby can be added to the file after making a short landing and before travelling to Canada on a long term. Not sure if she is right. Could someone please let me know if that indeed is the case?

The agent is COMPLETELY WRONG. As soon as you land as a PR, your application is done; the child cannot be added after that and your only option would be sponsorship.

Hi all, just a quick update.

1. Copr for Mrs who is the primary and myself, received in July. Have to land before Jan 25th 2017.
2. With god's grace, my mrs gave birth to our daughter.
3. Since i am in the UK, i think i have to first get the UK birth certificate, then get the birth registered with the Indian High Commission, and then be eligible to apply for the Indian Passport which can be submitted to Cic.

This whole process can take more than a month since it's december now and the UK birth registration slots in Jan 2018 and then the other 2 steps which might take a month.

Since the agency has informed Cic of them birth today, if they send a request for the birth certificate, passport etc for the baby to add to the application, will i get only 1 month to send them?

Hi

You can request additional time to submit the documents. It is very possible that you may be requested to undergo new medicals.

Hi, wanted to check, do you need to return your copr letter with the baby's passport or return or before?

I thought that once you have all docs for the baby ready (passport, birth certificate etc) you need to send your old copr, our and baby passports once the baby has been added to the application and the ppr request is sent again by cic?

I have the baby passport application on the 13th where my passport will also be required.

IRCC should tell you when to submit your documents.
