I called CIC today and the guy mentioned that the last activity he can see in my file is completion of my "background and criminal checks" on Aug 17, 2014.

Other than that he gave me same reponse that the they have 24 months and my case looks routine etc etc.

So your background check did expire and thats why the delay. If they are complete and have been received you should be hearing fairly soon.

Would you mind telling what is the validity period for BG checks ?

thanks

Did you request the ATIP report at all?

No, never thought of requesting ATIP. infact don't know the procedure of requesting ATIP report.
it will be a good idea to order it so you know what comments are on your file and what the status is. it is free and you can order it online. it takes 1 month to get it. you can google online how to submit an ATIP report online.
Best,

Been almost few months the status online remain the same " in Process" :( Noticed the application from ON during the same timeline are processed earlier !
Has anyone received any kind of communication about when the test would be. I am planning to travel back home for 3 - 4 weeks from early dec returning bck on Jan ! have there been any test scheduled during December last year ?

Thanks
Katla

Hi Katla,

Please add your details in the excel sheet provided by a.R.

Also Local Office Transfer means that your file has been transferred from the Central Office ( Sydney) to your local processing office which I am assuming is Calgary.

But if processing for your file has just started in March 2014 , it will take about 3 to 6 months for your file to transfer to the local office.

Thanks

Usually people say it takes about 9 months to get invited for the test since file transferred to local office .. Not exactly accurate but around that ..

I just put another ATIP request in - it is already 3 months since the last one - let's see (in one month) whether there is any progress ... :'(

Good morning,

I missed a copy of my old passport and my file was returned without being processed :'(. I send back the copy of the missing passport immediately, I have two questions:

  • CIC didn't processed the application, does my file go to the end of the line, I mean it has to wait until they start reviewing November applications?

Can I believe that CIC reviewed my file because they identified document missing? Can I assume the rest of the application was completed?

Cheers

I originally sent our application March 15th , 2014 but I forgot to get my wife to sign her own residence calculator printout.
They returned all our applications about two months later and by the time I resent, they only put application back in process on August 23rd.

Did my test today. Got 18 out of 20 :). Took almost 1hour to verify documents. One lady was not allowed to do the test with us at 10.30am because she forgot to bring her old passport, luckily there was a test to be done at 1.30pm, so she was told to go bring it and come for the afternoon test. Good luck to u guys that have test coming up

Interview was just few minutes. The lady asked if I was working and asked to see my PR card, old passports, driver's license or health card, landing papers. I think the interview is just to find out if one can speak English cause the lady beside me was asked by interviewer to say a little bit about herself. All in all it was ok but they were very particular about seeing all old passport
