Hello @parrots. Its been a long time. Speedy recovery to you. I hope you get an update soon. Definitely you won't get to my 23weeks of waiting. Pray, hope and stay positive like always. It will happen.
Yeah I also have travel histories. But thank you. I will. Thanks alot
Last night I raised the webform using this link: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/ClientContact/en/Application/Form/69
I am not sure whether I was supposed to use this form our something else but as soon as I submit I received two automated emails from IRCC Middle East and IRCC confirming the receipt. Let see how it goes however their website already says "Our Client Support Centre agents do not have more information about your application than what’s in your account."
So I do not think it would be helpful. Also, I raised the form for Application Update from the available options.
I saw one more version of Web form as well but I didn't want to send two Web Forms at a time so I didn't use the other link: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx
Please let me know if someone has the experience that should I send one using the second link as well.
Applied on April 12th and completed biometrics on the 14th. biometrics updated the same day too. since then I've been stuck in background check. I'm applying for study permit and OWP for my wife. I'm the main applicant.
This week my application turns 8 weeks which is the estimated time stated by IRCC when I applied back in April even though now it says it's 6.
I'm desperate to get any updates.
I'm from Argentina. VO is Buenos Aires.
Well whether approval or rejection. Eligibility will show as completed on Tracker. But normally if it’s a rejection it’s comes not after long when you see eligibility completed. But when it’s keeps long for like 2 weeks and it’s safe to say you’re on a good track.
Normally eligibility is supposed to start before background check but I get you
Oh wow. So what was the point of the holding the application from June till September. Keeping a person in suspense when they could’ve just brought out the final decision. It’s all just very sad and draining.I am not so sure about that @Latifa Annie... I've seen some people who saw in their GCMS notes the gap of three or more months between the date the rejection was made on their application and the date they actually received their decision letters from the IRCC. I am not even entirely sure, it seems to me that I was one of those people. I see in our Notes that there was a "rejection" on June 9 (our first application was May 8), but we received our rejection decision on September 11. However, I am not sure if I understand this particular section of the Notes correctly as it might mean something else.
Congratulations but our result is not coming I think we are unlucky
I'm pretty good Allhamdulilah۔ No brother there is no updates it's been 16 weeks since I Applied and still waiting۔۔۔۔۔Hey @Izaz! How are you? Any updates on your application? It'll be 16 weeks for us this Thursday
Hey guys received my PPR today here's the timeline
Application submitted : Feb 3
Biometrics completed and updated: Feb 11
Medical request: March 14
Medical done April 11, Updated April 15
BVL and PPR : 23 May
Hey guys! My sister applied in December 2022 and here are the following updates:-
Biometrics:- Done (Already holds a visitor visa so it's valid)
Medical Exam:- Not required
Additional documents:- Received on April 18
Background check:- Under process
Review of eligibility:- Under process
My concern is that it has taken more than six months and no decision has been made. This has exceeded the processing time from the country that she is applying from and is getting her worried. I already applied for her GCMS notes, but that's going to take a couple of weeks for it to come.
Anyone who has been in a similar situation?
You are spot on as far as the background check is concerned. Although in reality my visit visa application background check was completed the same day the biometric was added in the portal but the portal just keeps on showing that my background check is in progress. It was only the day when the visa was stamped on my passport, the portal started showing background check completed with same date was biometric (back dated).Hey @Latifa Annie again No, that is definitely the other way around: background always comes first, before everything else. Again, you could see that from the GCMS Notes. The Background check takes place the very next day after submitting the application and involved all "Five Eyes" countries and it finished within days for all applicants as this is a threshold that applications have to overcome before even being opened for consideration. Despite the fact that "background check" might appear as stuck in the trackers, it is finished first and very quickly.
Hello Parrots, it's not good to see that you've been waiting for 16 weeks. But, I know someone who has been waiting for exactly 40 weeks. I contacted him and he thinks that it's a normal issue with IRCC to issue a study permit after two years lol.Hey @step1234! Thank you for your warm wishes! I'm back to normal! You know, you know, I am not that sure! We only have two more weeks to go until our personal record of 18 weeks and from then on we'll be on our way to catch up with your timeline
HelloHey @oximoron! Although your application, has exceeded 6 weeks posted on the IRCC website, it is still within the "normal" range of applications we're seeing in 2023, which is up to 14 weeks. You shouldn't be worried just yet. In case you application goes beyond 14 weeks, you'll be a rare case, like my husband and I who have been waiting for 16 weeks already with only a few people in the same boat with us.
