Hi @Miss bee ,

Thanks so much for the responses you give in this group.

My husband and I just received our P1 emails in our different email boxes.

1. It mentioned to fill the information for yourself and for each member of your family: I don't understand this since we both received our separate emails. Should we respond to the emails just for ourselves or fill in information for both on our separate responses?

2. Principal applicant to indicate preference for each dependent to have their accounts: Please what's the implication of this if my spouse (the principal account) goes for that?

3. Personal email (one for the whole family): I don't get this one too. Do we provide one email address on our separate email responses or indicate our individual email address on our separate responses?

Kindly provide some clarifications, I am a bit confused.

Thank you.

Hey guys, I just submitted my PR application with nomination under OINP masters graduate stream yesterday. What will be the further processes in this? I read that we need to link this account to GCkey. When should that be done? I would appreciate a detailed explanation of the upcoming steps or processes to be done.

When you receive the P1, does that mean that your PR is already approved?? Can you please post your timeline, so I can have a better idea about my process, please? Thanks!

I am not so sure but my understanding is that I become a PR when I receive eCOPR
yes, we all received the same email but according to the instructions on the pdf you the main applicant should reply to the email with the information of all the family members.

My understanding is that we are approve once we get eCOPR, but its nice to see things are moving along.

Hey @Miss bee,

I have an important question. Can I add additional documents before AOR through the webform when I expect AOR anytime soon? Are these documents considered?
Yes, you can submit additional documents via the IRCC webform even before receiving your Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR), but whether these documents are considered depends on their relevance and timing:
1. Before AOR:
• If your application hasn’t been linked to an IRCC file number (which is assigned at AOR), IRCC may not immediately associate the additional documents with your application.
• However, submitting relevant documents early ensures they’re on file and can potentially be reviewed once your application is assigned a file number.

2. How IRCC handles such documents:
• If your submission is before the AOR, the documents may be placed in a general file linked to your name or application number (once assigned).
• After AOR, officers will review the full application, including any documents submitted earlier.

3. Recommendation:
• Clearly indicate in your webform submission that these documents are supplemental to your PR application and include identifiable details like your name, date of birth, and Unique Client Identifier (UCI), if available.
• Ensure the documents are relevant and necessary for your case to avoid delays or confusion.

4. What happens if your AOR is issued soon after?
• Once you receive your AOR, check whether the submitted documents are acknowledged. If not, re-submit them referencing your application number.

Hey guys, I just submitted my PR application with nomination under OINP masters graduate stream yesterday. What will be the further processes in this? I read that we need to link this account to GCkey. When should that be done? I would appreciate a detailed explanation of the upcoming steps or processes to be done.
1. Linking Your Application to Your GCKey Account

• When to Link: when you get AOR you can search your application in Gckey. IRCC needs time to receive and load your application into their system.
• How to Link:
• Log in to your GCKey account.
• Select “Add (link) your application to your account.”
• Provide the required details (Application type, Category, UCI, etc.).
• Once linked, you’ll receive updates and messages through GCKey.

2. Receiving the Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR)

• Timeline: Typically, you will receive the AOR within 4-6 months of submission.

• What It Means: The AOR confirms that your application is complete and has been accepted into IRCC’s processing queue. It also includes your application number (File number).

3. Reviewing Eligibility and Background

The application will go through various stages of processing:

A. Eligibility Check (Assessing your application against PR requirements)
• IRCC will verify that you meet the criteria under the OINP Masters Graduate stream.
• Your nomination certificate will also be validated with the province.

B. Medical Examination

• If you didn’t submit a medical upfront, IRCC will request you to undergo one.
• If you submitted it already, you may receive a Medical Passed (MP) update after its review.

C. Background Check
• This involves verifying your personal history, work experience, education, and other details to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• It includes criminality, security, and misrepresentation checks.

D. Additional Document Requests (if needed)
• IRCC may request extra documents, such as updated police clearance certificates (PCCs), travel history forms, or explanations about certain aspects of your application.

4. Approval Stages

A. Pre-Arrival Stage
• Once eligibility, medical, and background checks are complete, you may receive a Pre-Arrival Services Letter. This is a good sign that your application is nearing finalization.

B. Passport Request (PPR)
• After the final review, IRCC will issue a Passport Request, asking you to submit your passport for visa issuance.
• If you’re in Canada, you’ll receive a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) instead.

C. Becoming a Permanent Resident
• After receiving your COPR, you can complete the landing process (e.g., at an IRCC office or by flagpoling at a border).

Tips for Smooth Processing
1. Check Your Email and Account Regularly: IRCC communicates through GCKey or the email you provided.
2. Keep Documents Ready: Ensure all documents (like PCC, medical, and proof of funds) are valid and accessible.
3. Stay in Touch with OINP: If IRCC requests a confirmation of your nomination, OINP can assist with this.

Thank you.

Congratulations on receiving the P1 emails! Here’s a detailed clarification for your questions:

1. Responding to the Emails (For Yourself or Both)
• If both you and your spouse received separate P1 emails, you should respond separately to your individual emails.

• Each response should:

• Include your personal information
• Mention information for all family members (e.g., spouse and dependents) in your response. This is because IRCC requires details about the whole family, even though both of you received separate emails.

Example:
• Your response to IRCC should include details about yourself (as the respondent) and your spouse as your dependent.
• Your spouse’s response to IRCC should include their details (as the respondent) and your information as their dependent.

2. Indicating Preference for Dependents to Have Accounts
• This refers to whether dependents (like children or spouses) will have their own MyCIC accounts linked to the application.
• If the principal applicant (your spouse) chooses to allow accounts for dependents:
• Each dependent will have the ability to upload requested documents or receive notifications for themselves.
• However, the principal applicant will still be responsible for overseeing the entire application.

Implication:
• It provides dependents some autonomy to handle their own documents or correspondence.
• This is often unnecessary for dependents like children or non-working spouses since the principal applicant usually manages the application.
• If your spouse (the principal applicant) opts for no separate accounts, all communication will be handled via their account, which simplifies management.

3. Personal Email (One for the Whole Family)
• IRCC asks for a single email address for the entire family for official communication.
• Even though you are responding individually to separate P1 emails, both responses should list the same email address as the family’s primary contact email.

What to Do
• Decide on one email address (e.g., your spouse’s or yours) to be used for family communication.
• Both of you should mention this single email address in your separate responses.

Steps to Respond to P1 Emails

1. Open your individual P1 email and carefully read the instructions.
2. Fill in the requested information about yourself and all family members (including spouse and dependents).
3. Use the same family email address in both responses.
4. Submit your responses separately but ensure the details align across both submissions.

Receiving Portal 1 email means your PR application is approved however you are not PR yet . You get official PR status when you get signed ECOPR .
