I just got a letter for IRCC requesting me to retake my biometrics

Application submitted: Jul 23, 2024
AOR + BIL: Dec 23, 2024
Provided biometrics (self and spouse): Dec 30, 2024

My spouse's biometrics were updated the same day in GCkey, but mines weren't. Today (4 months later) I received a letter saying:

"Based on IRCC’s records, you have provided your fingerprints and photograph. Unfortunately, upon further verification, it has been determined that there is an issue with the quality of the fingerprints and/or photograph that you provided. As a result, you must have your fingerprints scanned and photograph taken again. You are not required to pay a new biometric fee."

Hello, I got FD on my PR application but don’t have portals/ecorp yet. I also applied for Open Work Permit extension 3 months ago and did not get decision yet. My current permit is till Nov 2026. Do I have to withdraw my WP application or IRCC will cancel it themself? Thank you
Hey! How do you know that you got FD? Any special letter about it or status somewhere?
I received PAL on Apr 16, saw couple of ghost updates (around 5-6 times), and got update in tracker that "Background verification status has been updated to In progress", but it was in that status last 2-3 weeks.

IMM5562: A separate and updated Supplementary Information - Your Travels
(IMM 5562) form, which details your previous travel history (trip duration and purpose) since
age 18. This must be received at this office by: 2025/05/06
I received this ADR and I responded with only my trip to USA for flagpoling. Do i need to include my trip from Nigeria to Canada?

Hello everyone
I applied July 30, 2024. AOR and Biometrics done. Still waiting. Haven’t heard anything since then. I got biometrics done January 20th, 2025 and still waiting…..
Please post updates guys for any luck:)

Not sure if that office is even functional or what standard their faculties have but definitely too slow compare to the other offices. applied in July and still waiting.
Yes, very annoying. But since most regions just had their new MPs elected, I think it is at least worthy to try to contact them for help. Waiting this long is definitely damaging my life quality. I'm even thinking getting a Portugal golden visa later this year and moving to Europe.

@Miss bee hello I have a question for address change. So when I got portal 1 I put my old address on it but after getting portal 2 I have seen you have to put your mailing address on PR PORTAL so they can send you the PR card so can I put a new mailing address when I am filling my mailing address details on PR PORTAL for my PR card or the address that I put on portal 1 has to be same on PR portal .

Yes, you can absolutely use a new mailing address when filling out the PR Portal (Portal 2) for your PR card. The address you entered in Portal 1 does not have to be the same.
  • Portal 1 is for confirming your presence in Canada and your intent to reside.
  • Portal 2 is for providing your mailing address, which IRCC uses to send your PR card.
  • You are allowed to update your mailing address at this stage — IRCC understands people may move between the two steps.
Just make sure the new address is complete and accurate, including apartment/unit numbers if applicable, so your PR card isn’t lost in the mail.

Thank you so much i was worried that if I put a new mailing address on portal 2 for them to send PR card there will be a issue on my application.
