Noc code selection

Hi everyone,

This is my first post in this forum so apologies in case of any mistakes.

My qualification: M.Sc biotechnology ( India)

Experience: 5 years as quality assurance officer in a pharmaceutical company.

I am eligible for FSW with 71 points now I am preparing for express entry profile. I have a big confusion in my NOC code. According to my qualification it should be NOC 2121 ( biologists and related scientists) but I worked in quality department NOC code is 2221 (biological technologists and technicians). Which I should consider for my express profile? Is it necessary NOC code should be match to your qualification exactly? Moreover I am planing to apply for Saskatchewan PNP in which only NOC 2221 is in demand? Wht I should do with NOC ? Please anyone help.

Absolutely no problem. Go for 2221 and make sure duties in your reference letter should match noc 2221. I have similar situation with master of science in pharmacology and have been nominated by SINP under noc 2221.

Thanks for your reply but I want to apply under NOC 2221 as it is in demand in Saskatchewan. And I want to ask according to qualification NOC is 2121 but according to experience it should be 2221 so which I should follow? Qualification one or experience one?

Have you read through Saskatchewan's application guide and eligibility criteria ?
I believe it states explicitly that your education and work experience must match.

I don't know anything about either of the NOCs you've mentioned, so I can't tell you whether or not they are a near enough match that SK would accept them.

Experience one. Your reference letter needs to contain similar list of duties to 2221. As istari said, Saskatchewan requires that the education should be relevant to your experience. You should be fine as master of science in biotechnology is relevant to 2221.
