Dear All,

Is it good idea to include NOC code for each position in refernce letter?

So my RF looks like:
NOC 0601 Head of the On-Trade Department at xxxxx on a full time basis of 40 hours a week between the dates of xxxxx and 01/01/12 xxxxxxxxxxxx's main duties during this employment consisted of the following..

Looking for your recommendations.

Best

NOC code is not obligatory, but cannot hurt if it's included - for additional clarity. I have put it in my letters.

Thnak you Simpson85!

Just to mention - I am apllying from outside Canada.
However, I asked my HR officer to include them in my letter, as some of my positions might sound a bit weird for canadians

No problem! I am applying outside of Canada as well.

kryt0n, I agree - but I got the suggestion from a lady who has just recently gone through immigration (successfully).

BTW, I was writing my reference letters myself, my supervisors just signed them :)

You already mention your NOC in your e-APR. And it is assumed that the employment reference letters that you are providing relates to that NOC otherwise why would you go through the process of getting an employment reference letter that doesn't contribute anything to your application.

Plus CIC doesn't judge your NOC based on your employment titles. They judge whether you fall in your mentioned NOC in your application by your duties and responsibilities mentioned in the reference letter.

As for me, it looks a bit weird when including Canadian internal codes to describe an occupation in a different country. How anyone foreign can issue a letter showing NOC code without having an idea how this classification really works? That's what an officer may think.
It might look that you're too much trying to persuade you worked in this occupation

I have not included NOC so that I can use the reference letter for other purposes too.
