Hi Folks:

I have 2 cousins abroad with the following qualifications:

John has Masters in Mathematics
Silvia has Bachelors of Arts (Hons.) in Social Sciences

Both of them teach at a private helping/tutoring/coaching institute (I don't know exactly what to call it as it is not a private college).

I looked at all the titles under NOC 4131 here:
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/english/NOC/2006/ViewAllTitles.aspx?val=4&val1=4131

It seems John does qualify under "mathematics teacher – college level"
It also seems that Silvia also qualifies under "social services teacher – college level"

However, Silvia only has a Bachelors degree. I see under Employment Requirements that a Masters might be required in some (most?) cases for college-level instructors.

My question is, would both of them qualify for Canadian Immigration under the NOC 4131 as per the details I have provided above?

Thank you!
Paul

My second question is whether I should apply from within Canada on their behalf as I am already in Canada and whether that process will be faster, or let them apply from their native country?

1) dont worry about qualification unless it is an obvious one like medicine where qualification is necessary. Thats my opinion anyway.

I presume they are not teaching standard high school students but at college level (doesn't have to be university level) or diploma high school students (like vocational students).

if that is the case, both would probably qualify (my opinion).

2) i didn't know that someone can sponsor their cousin from within the country. if that is the case, you should do it, but i don't think this option exist unless these are your only two living relatives. However, i dont know the rules so well. Perhaps someone else can answer.

Hi there:

No I did not mean 'sponsor' per se, but the application process itself.
I was wondering if it'll be faster if I did it on their behalf from inside Canada rather than them doing it from another country.
I was curious about the speed of the process.

Thanks!

they'd have to sign it and it has to finally go to their visa office anyway.
