Hey all, i'm in Trinidad and hoping to get Canadian PR. I have a bachelors of education degree in technical and vocational education specializing in electrical technology.

I have 2 years experience teaching electrical technology.....but the experience is teaching at the secondary level, because trades are taught in high schools here in Trinidad.

I looked at the NOC description for 4131 and it states 'This unit group includes instructors who teach applied arts, academic, technical and vocational subjects to students at community colleges, CEGEPs, agricultural colleges, technical and vocational institutes, language schools and other college level schools.'

I'm just wondering if my experience qualifies me even tho i taught at the high school level???

unfortunately, I'd have to say no, since there's a NOC "secondary school teachers", which includes, among others, trades instructor – secondary school and vocational teacher, high school.

but again, this is your life, so if you think it's worth taking the chance and applying anyway... why not? the worst that can happen is you lose your application fee.

I guess i might just give it a shot then.........another point to note.........the name of the high school i taught was hillview college.........does the fact that its say college make a difference?

In non-English speaking countries there are lots of private offices that give English language courses. Could you please advise whether a teacher or instructor of English language in that office having two years of working experience will qualify for the NOC 4131?

Hi,

Can anybody help me by giving information? I have a Bachelor's of Arts degree, and when I was doing BA I also finished a one year Diploma in Computers. After I got my degree and diploma I got a job after four months and started working in a computer Institute as a computer instructor for Two years. After this job I have been pursuing my studies, but I am not doing it in IT. Could I still get my Permanent Resident for canada based on my only experience? I forgot to mention I am planning to apply in 4131: College and Vocational Instrcutors. Will I qualify?

I have a Bachelors of science in Biochemistry and have been teaching at a High school for 4 years. Would i be able to apply as a college instructor without my teaching diploma?
