Documents statuses
It is important that you verify your account to confirm the current status of each medical credential document sent to the Medical Council of Canada (MCC) for source verification.
To verify the status of your document from your account, click on Documents in the left panel, and select the specific document in the Documents panel (centre panel).
A message will be sent to your account advising you of any documents that require additional information or correction.
Once all the documents associated with your source verification request (SVR) have been reviewed by the MCC, your medical credential documents will be sent for source verification.
It is your responsibility as a candidate to check the status of each document throughout the source verification process.
Not submitted
You started an SVR in your account but no payment has been made.
Not received
Your documents have not been received by the MCC.
Received
Your documents have been received by the MCC.
Received and viewable online
Your documents have been scanned and are now viewable through your account.
Under review
Your documents are presently being reviewed by our staff.
Reviewed and accepted
Your documents have been reviewed and have been accepted by the MCC.
Ready for submission to ECFMG
Your documents will be sent electronically to the ECFMG shortly.
Submitted to ECFMG
Your documents have been sent electronically to the ECFMG.
Received by ECFMG
The electronic submission of your documents has been received by the ECFMG.
Sent for source verification
Your documents have been sent by the ECFMG to the issuing institutions by regular mail.
Resent for source verification
The institution has not responded to the ECFMG, therefore, your documents have been resent to the institution by regular mail.
The package ECFMG received from the medical institution was unfortunately not complete. ECFMG has sent another request to the institution.
Verification returned – passed
Your documents were successfully source verified.
These are status you may check with your account but regular mail takes 2 months
