Thank you. I've emailed the cic about my NOC.

Could someone please tell me how long they take to respond?
Hi,

You can also email the NOC team at:
NC-NOC-CNP-GD@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca or noc-cnp@workingincanada.gc.ca.

In the email mention all your duties/responsibilities, your qualification and your role.
They reply within 4-5 days.

Regards,
Aditya

Thank you very much. I've e-mailed them. I've submitted my EE profile already selecting NOC 2173. Is it going to be a problem to change it in case they tell me my roles suit 2174 more?

Also, are my responsibilities at least a match for one of those NOC's? Or, am I going to have a problem finding an NOC for those roles?

Also, once I get a confirmation from one of these email addresses (NC-NOC-CNP-GD@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca or noc-cnp@workingincanada.gc.ca) regarding NOC, can I rest assured that I won't have problems with NOC later on providing I use the same roles and responsibities?

Are these official e-mail addresses that belong to CIC?

I got a response from NOC (NC-NOC-CNP-GD2@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca).

"In order for us to provide you with a potential NOC code, we require the following additional information about the occupation:

- the exact job title;

- the education and work experience required by the employer for entry into the occupation; and

- the type of establishment in which the work is performed."'

I am not sure what to tell them for point 2. I don't know the education and experience required for my position. It was my previous employment.

if you do developer activities, then i would put under 2174.....2173 doesn't talk much about coding & etc., also it is regulated......that's my view

People being confused at this level already shows that your NOC 2173 isn't suitable
OR if it is, it will require a licence, which I assume you don't have, which is another problem.

I'd probably take down the EE profile and re-create it with NOC 2174 if this truly is your occupation.

Thank you. I'm really confused now. Someone said 2173 is not regulated either? Do I really need a license?

Can I modify my existing profile to 2174? Do I need to do anything else? Job bank?

Workers in regulated occupations require a licence to work legally. Workers in non-regulated occupations do not require a licence, but employers may have other certification requirements.

Hi,

Is NOC 2173 regulated only in Nova Scotia or in all provinces of Canada? I have chosen 2173 and received ITA too.. now in the process of gathering documents. Worried of the Roles and Responsibilities letter from my company. My role is a developer in the current company however i feel my responsibilities go well with 2173 than 2174. Could someone help on this please.

Thanks,
Kirushna

You can just edit your profile, you don't have to make a new one.

In my case, I changed my noc code for one of my work experiences from 2174 to 2175. I got my PPR last month.
