Hello,

Does the below look like a decent fit for NOC 2173? I am a software developer and this is the experience letter I got from my employer. Please let me know if it's missing something.

  • Interacting with the business users to discuss requirements, and designing high level design documents that describe the technical changes to the system.
  • Designing, Developing, integrating, unit testing and implementing software modules using Java, J2EE and Spring.
  • Developing quality software using object oriented programming concepts, also making use of object oriented design patterns where applicable.
  • Working on front end development using HTML, Javascript, CSS, Freemarker etc.
  • Writing unit test cases using JUnit, and using other tools like Jenkins, Gradle and Nexus to build and store technical artifacts.
  • Researching and debugging production issues as they come up, analyzing and working on fixes.
  • Coordinating development work with other developers, and with different teams.
  • Participating in peer code reviews and actively contributing towards improving code quality.
  • Using code quality tools like Sonarqube to make sure coding standards are followed.
  • Providing assistance and mentorship to less experienced developers on the team.

Hi,

Thanks for initiating this thread. I have some queries. Someone please help.

First Query: I am working with a company where I could not get experience letter as I am still working there and I doubt that they can impact my rating then what to do in this case, please help.

Second Query: I have experience of 5.2 years in IT and 3.6 years in my current company. Can someone please tell me that do I also need to have the experience letter from my past companies?

Third Query: Do we need to upload the experience letters while filing express entry application?

Please help.

I would put NOC 2174.

Thank you for the response. Now I am really concerned :(

I have submitted my EE profile and selected 2173. Why do you say it should be 2174? Is my experience letter not suitable for 2173?

It's matching 2173 also, most of the duties you listed are matching noc 2173 too. To clear everything you can send your roles and responsibilities to hrsd also. They ll.confirm.your noc

Thank you. What does regulated mean? Am I fine with 2173?
Workers in regulated occupations require a licence to work legally. Workers in non-regulated occupations do not require a licence, but employers may have other certification requirements.

Regulated means, you need to obtain Licensing from the respective provinces in case if you choose that NOC.
Obtaining, licensing from your home country is quite cumbersome, im not aware of the process for it.
