Hi, CIC is working on the applications received around your date at this time so you might just scale through. You are right that if the DD is expired by the time they open your application, it will be returned. We were expressly requested to provide DD that is valid for 5 months.
Even I didn't get notification (PER) on my May 12th application till September 2nd. So don't be overly worried, just keep your head up and stay hopeful. As earlier stated, it might ail through. The sky is big enough for all birds to fly

Thanks Pipis for your quick response. Appreciate that. No bank was ready to provide Demand Draft validity more than 3 month, so I hardly had any options. As you say I am keeping fingers crossed and lets stay hopeful. Would it be wise to contact CIC and if so how?

Pls can you share the format of your work reference letter with me. I need this for a guide, I'm a bit anxious with the long list of rejection based on improper job role or description on reference letter.

Very simple. What I did was to study the Document Checklist and the specific requirements for reference letter in it;

Letters must be:
• written on company letterhead,
• signed by the responsible officer/supervisor,
• show the company's full address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail and website addresses,
• stamped with the company's official seal (if applicable).
Letters must include all of the following information:
• the specific period of your employment with the company,
• the positions you have held during the period of employment and the time you spent in each position,
• your main responsibilities and duties in each position,
• your total annual salary plus benefits in each position, and
• the number of hours worked per week in each position.

Give this portion above to your HR/supervisor who will be issuing the reference for you that these are the specific details you need in the letter. I did this with my current employer and past 3 employers. I got it from them, no issues at all. I guess asking nicely goes along way

Then I looked at the duties stated on the NOC list for my NOC 1112,

Investment analysts perform some or all of the following duties:

Collect financial and investment information about companies, stocks, bonds and other investments using daily stock and bond reports, economic forecasts, trading volumes, financial periodicals, securities manuals, company financial statements and other financial reports and publications

Examine and analyze financial and investment information collected, including profiles of companies, stock and bond prices, yields and future trends and other investment information

Provide investment advice and recommendations to clients, senior company officials, pension fund managers, securities agents and associates

Prepare company, industry and economic outlooks, analytical reports, briefing notes and correspondence.

I simply took these duties and changed the way they were written to avoid copy and paste (CIO hates copy and paste references) but convey the same meaning then added 3 more of the specific stuff I do at the bottom and that was it. References letters were ready.

DD Encashed: 3 September 2014
PER: 9 September 2014

Hello, I never said anything about June. CIO is still working on applications received in May. We know because the credit cards of applicants currently being charged are those whose applications were received in the last week of May. Such applicants announce it here on the forum and also update our FSW 2014 spreadsheet accordingly. Cheers

on the main FSW 2014 thread, a valuable member (forum name - ToCanadawithLove - unfortunately he got his file returned) has posted "Reason of Returns Letter" written by CIC to him. he has uploaded the whole letter.

This is the checklist which CIC use to verify whether our applications are complete or not (when they receive our applications at CIO -NOVA SCOTIA)​

so i request to you (everyone) who is going to apply, please read this document carefully and make sure you do not make any mistake which is listed.

Hi all,

I applied back at the end of July for NOC1111. Application received by CIC Sydney 30 July.

I have recently realised that I didn't send a notarised copy of my degree certificate with my WES report.

I have made an appointment with a Notary Public on Saturday to have my degree notarised and I am going to draft a letter to explain my mistake and request that the degree certificate is added to my original application.

My question is; has anyone heard of anyone doing something similar and having additional documents added to their original application and if they had success in doing so?

My plan is to send the cover letter along with a copy of the application form that includes the barcodes (as I assume the barcodes are unique identifiers).

If my application is rejected, it will be sometime in November when it is returned and I feel it will be too late to re-apply at that stage.

Hope anyone can help and good luck to all who have already applied!
