I have applied along with my family. I am intending to visit alone and not to take my family along with me initially for 3-4 months for proper hunting a job/home etc. Can any body let me know can i do this or i have to take family along with me for 1st check in.

Congrats first of all;

There is no harm to go alone for the purpose u specified but remember that ur family should enter Canada within a year as per validity of your COPR (one year from your date of medical or expiry of passports which ever comes first).

Secondly, I would like to encourage all the members not to lose hope and cases are not over. Cases are valid for one year from the date of PER, means the Visa Office has to make decision in one year time. So now calculate yourself that how much time you have spent in waiting since PER. The More the time you wait means less time remaining in decision

Wish all of you, all the best and remember me in your prayers.

Agree. I also got my PER in November. since then it is waiting game for me and I believe for rest of my friends.

As Per trend, LVO takes 6 or more months to start processing on application and then respond, so at the end of July or in the start of August, I expect some response from LVO. So I request to everyone, that please pray.........

But if even after 6 months, they don't respond, then it is disturbing the whole schedule. ...

One thing i have noticed specifically that applicants who did not file employer reference letter according to guidelines of CIC, getting extra ordinary delays in processing. This one of the big reason apart from others.

Employer reference letter refers to document in which your employer enlist your job duties and signed it.

In response to my CSE raised yesterday, I have received response today from DRD (Program Assistant) that my file is currently undergoing mandatory background checks and no time frame can be given when these checks will be completed.

Based on your experience, can any member advise me regarding progress of my file as well as when can I expect MR? So far, no 2nd line in ECAS. Thanks

As in your case almost 6 months completed after PER and LVO starts work on application after 6 months, which means your application is on their table and soon you will receive some response from LVO (Additional documents, Interview call or MR directly), because it's not important that first you will get 2nd line update, then other things will take place. Make sure your bank statement is updated, get ready for verification call. Now wait till end of July and pray for yourself and us.
