I submitted my application on September 3, completed biometrics, and received an update on October 17. Since then, there has been no further progress. Upon following up on April 14, I was informed that only one stage of my background check has been initiated, with two more remaining. It has now been six months, and I am uncertain whether this delay is typical or if it indicates a potential issue.

No. The SLA alone is 6 months. Without GCMS/CBSA, no one should throw the SS argument.
