I feel you, i just pretend that i am not waiting for any citizenship ceremony just to lessen the frustration because it seems the more you wait the longer it becomes..What a joke for those who applied 6 months before you, took the test a month after you, and still haven’t heard anything. Best of luck to you though!
Congrats Mike I am happy for you...I wish you would stay active on this forum to help others. Your posts have been very helpful indeed!I finally received eCAS update of virtual oath ceremony.

Last week about 9 days ago I got an email asking if I am ok with virtual ceremony. I am from hamilton office.
I replied confirming that I am available and ok with it. Since then I have no news. Would senior members kindly guide me on the process from here on...
What would I need in terms of documentation?
How much time it will take?
How would my documents be verified etc ?
Rgds
Hi,
Did the mail you received indicate any date of the probable ceremony? Or was it just a check about your availability and ability to attend and take a virtual oath?
Anyway, you will get an email containing the oath date with two attachments i.e. 1st is the oath of citizenship(common for people who want to sign with a pen or electronically) and 2nd is the procedure to add electronic signatures (to be referred for steps to sign the oath of citizenship electronically ). The mail also has sections that mention what all is to be done before/during/after the oath ceremony. Two pieces of IDs cumulatively having your photo signature, date of birth and address like Drivers license and Health Card along with your PR card and a scissor to destroy the PR card after the oath ceremony is completed.
Based on updates by people so far and personal experience, the virtual ceremony is scheduled for 30 mins. I had my IDs verified two days before the ceremony through a 10 minute zoom meeting (I got another email with details) while others have reported of being sent to a separate room during the first part of the virtual ceremony for getting their IDs verified by the clerk followed by the oath process (part 2 of the ceremony).
Similarly, after the oath I was sent an email with instructions to destroy the PR card and email photos of the destroyed card as evidence along with the digitally signed oath form for IRCC to then process my citizenship certificate while others have reported that they had to cut the card in the 3rd part of the virtual ceremony in front of the clerk and then email the oath form for IRCC to process their citizenship certificate.
In short, the event is simple and not to be worried much about as the officials are pleasant, friendly and helpful. Just to give an idea, all the participants (judge, ircc clerk, I and the other applicant) during my ceremony encountered meeting disconnection and laughed about the new normal!
All the best. Take care.
