Hello everyone,
Without disrespecting my previous partner, I've come to find that she was "doing things" behind my back, and as such I realized that the relationship was not what it was supposed to be(common-law/love). I don't know what to do now, because not longer after we split our relationship, my Permanent Residency Card came in the mail. I'm an honest man, I want things to be done legally and honestly, but I didn't lie about my intentions or our relationship at the time of the application submission.
In other words, what do I do now? Do I file to CIC to change my marital status on my brand new PR Card? If I do that, will it invalidate my PR Card? What are you suggestions and thoughts?
I'd ask for no judgement or harsh remarks, I've forgiven the hurts and pains that have been done, and I wish to deal with this matter in a professional and legal manner, without losing all the money and time I put into the PR.
Thank you for your time.
Respectfully,
-Robert
Just a few details:
My PR Card should be coming in the mail with the next few months, though I am a landed Permanent Resident as of today, sorry about the previous mistake of saying my PR Card already arrived(went down to the border today with my Confirmation of Residency and everything was approved and signed and they congratulated me).
My ex-partner and I lived together for almost 2 years/common-law. We are still in the same household, but I am moving out at the end of June.
My ex-partner and I are in mutual understanding of this relationship, so there is no threatening of law or removing PR or anything like that.
