Wow! Thank you for all the responses. So what I've gathered is this: 1. My PR remains untouched(we are in peaceful terms) 2. I can change my marital status(the border guard told me), but there is no need to really do it. 3. Taxes, next year I file as single. Simple. 4. I am unable to sponsor...

No longer Common-law but has PR Card. Change Marital Status?

itscoezy: Thank you for that information. It is very saddening, but it is the reality of what I have to face. I suppose, this is just part of being a man and growing in wisdom, age. In the least, it has only made me a stronger man who wishes to be even better than he was before! The reason I...

No longer Common-law but has PR Card. Change Marital Status?

Hello everyone, Without disrespecting my previous partner, I've come to find that she was "doing things" behind my back, and as such I realized that the relationship was not what it was supposed to be(common-law/love). I don't know what to do now, because not longer after we split our...

Would any one care to elaborate? Baloo's response was good, but for me just a bit vague for my ignorant mind. Anyone else care to elaborate on his or hers wisdom? I could really use the help.
