Hello, I'm new here and had a question about the ecas online.
I see that some or most of the people(inlanders) has had some information("inprocess") within like 2-3months of applying.

I've applied to sponsor my husband in June 2010(inland) and been checking for the past month or so online but i get absolutely get NOTHING!
I also called CIC and told me this is normal and that I won't get any information until I get the first stage approval. And I should only be worried if I don't get any letter and the processing times on the website has passed.
So..is this really normal ??
Is there anyone who is in the same situation as I am?? Getting a little worried cuz everyone else seems to be getting a change on e-cas.... :( all of this waiting is a pain >< should've applied outland...=(

Yes, this is normal. First stage approval takes about 9 months. So, seat tight and relax, :).

The first E-cas I received, said decision made...the same day we got the brown envelopes from CIC.

Up to then, we had no information although CIC had opened the application, processed it and approved it.

I wouldn't worry too much about the E-Cas status at all.

Hi poohbear just to let you know that in case you are applying from inside quebec your application will never appear on ecas

Hey, there's nothing to be worried about :)
Some people are able to access e-CAS 2-3 months after sending the Application but some don't.
I was able to check it 2 1/2 months after sending mine, it doesn't say much though, it only says that it's IN PROCESS, and when they "Received" and "Started working on my Application."

boasorte, I sent in my app on Mar 22, received Mar 25, still can not log into E-CAS, what did you use as your identification type?

Why is that? Got some more details on this?

@poohbear: CIC told me it could take them up to 4-5 months to actually open an envelope.

Hi jurjen i found this info on the cic website in the FAQ section

We sent our outland application via registered mail, so we knew when it was received at CPC-M. Week after week, we tried unsuccessfully to login to ECAS and eventually gave up trying, though it was so stressful not knowing!

About 5 weeks after the app was received, we got sponsorship approval via snail mail.... so we checked ECAS again and... voila, we had access!
