l would advice that you get the normal FRSC license instead of the international one, we made the same mistake and even considering travelling back to naija to get it. You see, with the international one, you can only drive for 3 mths here in alberta and it can be exchanged for their class 7 GDL i.e. learner's permit and you can't drive alone except you have someone with a full non-GDL license by your side, and there are other conditions too but with the regular one, you just write the test, do road test and you get the class 5 non-GDL. The implication is that with class 7 GDL, it will take another 3 yrs before you become a full class 5 non-GDL why wait 3 yrs when you can get it immediately and for most jobs here, you are required to have a class 5.

This is to inform the house I and my family finally landed on 2 May. We came in via airfrance....los to cdg to yyz.

The officers were pleasant and signed the declaration forms with no issues

No customs issues as we are not bringing major items from naija

No POF issues aside the normal if you have currency on you...we only had 3000 USD cash.

Since it was a weekend we can't get SIN yet


We eventually took a connecting flight to Regina. Saskatchewan where we are staying with friends.

We will arrange accommodation later

Its 2 am here.
Once its morning we will do the SIN, sort out bank arrangements and maybe school too.

Since you paid on behalf of a person, the information that will be needed is that of the person you are paying for not yours except if it is the billing address of the card which should be yours.

I provided my friend's phone number and address on my resume that I will be staying with. Interestingly, the company called yesterday and said that they would want to speak with me. They called my friend yesterday to tell him.

Well,my friend asked the Lady to call back and she wanted to know if it should be in minutes or hours. My friend said hours. She said that she will do that.That was when he hurriedly called my attention to what had happened.

I am of the opinion that when she calls again, my friend should let her know that I will be landing soon and will contact them immediately. I have their phone number or he should furnish the lady with my naija number.

What do we think?

My wife had her interview via Skype and the recruiter to my wife to contact her as soon as she gets into Canada.

Based on my wife's experience, I think your friend should inform her that you're still in Nigeria and setup some kind of link with you (Skype, whatsapp, your Naija # ect)
My wife had her interview via Skype and the recruiter to my wife to contact her as soon as she gets into Canada.
My opinion is that they didn't want to go through the process of "job offer"
