No harm in submitting that. If not good enough you will get an additional doc request i suppose.

Sorry to say no, the Nigerian pension funds wont be accepted as POF. It is a bit different from the Indian provident funds which your refer. Your best shot is an unencumbered funds in bank accounts (savings and current - local currency or domiciliary ) or others like fixed deposits and money market mutual funds .frankiefun said:Guys,
Have a question? Don't know if this has been answered before...
Will our pension funds be accepted as POF? Since we can have access to the 50% of the funds after 3 months of unemployment.
I have read on this forum that it is being accepted for candidates from India!
You will have to create a new express entry profile.akubilly said:I have a question.
please how can I update a change in my express entry profile, I have search all day but I could not find any update form button. I just submitted my express entry profile but it says ineligible, I think I have spotted where I made the mistake but its saying 'transmitted' and there is no 'update from' button available. Has anyone encountered this kind of problem with the express entry profile? I have even written to them, though no reply yet. Any suggestion or help will be very much appreciated.
Yes this sure clarifies. I didn't use my pensions as POF in applying to OINP anyways.jideomoba said:Sorry to say no, the Nigerian pension funds wont be accepted as POF. Also, please note that you cannot access 50% of your pension funds at any time, the only exception is when your reached the age of 50 (retired) and your balance is quite buoyant (usually above NGN25 million) but then that also depends on some other calculations.
What you can access after 4 months of unemployment (not 3 months) is 25% of your pensions contribution balance.
Hope this clarifies. Best of luck on your application process.
Hello Nebs, thanks for your reply.Nebs said:You will have to create a new express entry profile.
I don't quite agree, I used both my pension from here and Nigeria alongside a property statement of value for my landed property in 9ja. It is not stated anywhere that Nigerian Pension funds is not acceptable form of POF.frankiefun said:Yes this sure clarifies. I didn't use my pensions as POF in applying to OINP anyways.
Thanks brother!

And I know someone who also used his pension statement as well he landed last year November with his family ( though his application was through the old system).
But anyways just sharing my experience and thoughts
All the best!
Hi Akubilly,akubilly said:thunder007.
Please how did you go about using your pension and landed property as POF, I have good money in pension and some landed property too, keeping all the cash for a family of 5 in the bank waiting for God knows when is so not visible. If you can put me through how you went about your Nigeria version pension statement and landed property, I will be very grateful.
Thunder007thunder007 said:Hi Akubilly,
just use your monthly statement sent by your PF administrator every month or request for it, if it is not normally sent to you.
As for the property, you need an 'Internal Reveune Service" Notice of assessment property tax, it just a signle page signed document issued by the state govt. try approach someone in the Surveyor general's office they will always guide you to where to obtain that.
A friend helped with mine from ogun state goverment since I was already here, he works in Surveyor general's offce. but said the process is quite simple. once you have your approved plan.
Also do not forget to add your approved plan copy along with the Notice of Assessment ( infact all your POF documents should be merged into 1 pdf file)
no one expects you to keep over $26,000 CAD in account but you need to proof you have sources for that amount and more. So if you can fix about half of that in your bank account , your assets should of which Pension is 1 should cover for the rest.
Cheers
Although I agree with Thunder007 on the use of pension fund and properties, I am very sure he showed other forms of pof in addition to that already mentioned. It is stated clearly on CIC website that Properties, no matter where or how you present it, can't be used as pof. Same goes for the pension fund. It has to be fund readily available to you.akubilly said:Thunder007
