NEW NEWS FROM OTTAWA

Notice – Changes to the Federal Skilled Worker Program
March 1, 2013 – With new criteria for the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) set to take effect in May, many prospective immigrants may already be preparing to apply.

However, future FSWP applicants should be aware that CIC expects to announce three important elements of the FSWP in April that will have an impact on the application process, including:

a cap on the number of applications that will be accepted in the first year;
a new list of priority occupations; and
the organizations that will be designated to conduct educational assessments.
Applicants who prepare their application before this information is announced do so at their own risk. Applications that do not meet the criteria that will be announced in April will not be processed.

On December 19, 2012, Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney announced significant changes to the FSWP. In addition, the Minister announced that the new FSWP would be opened up for applications on May 4, 2013. A pause on applications, except for those from certain PhD students and those supported by a qualifying job offer, has been in place since July 1, 2012

Let me add at this juncture that it is better to join the train of the Australian Immigration Programme before it becomes hardly possible just what Canadian Immigration Programmes are becoming.Anyway,I think it is always strategic to join the train when few pple are aware of any opportunity.However,who says after 3 years in Aussie when one must have obtained one's pp one culdnt find an easier rout to canada city.Whereas one is spending over 3 years awaiting csq or medical while some are even still hoping that they are able file an application........Food for thought.......Be proactive.......My 5k opinion......God bless you all.

Pls i need clarification on this. I have a brother in USA who will be assisting me with this FSWP may 2013 application stuff. The reason I asked him to assist me is that I want to appoint him as my representative and I want all my mails and responses from CIC with regard to the immigration process to be sent to him first and then he can send it to me through DHL or UPS to Nigeria. This is simply because I live in a rented apartment in Nigeria and I am planning on moving soon and so my address may be changing soon.Has anybody tried it this way, is it allowed, do i need to fill any document for this ? can he assist me with making payment for my FSWP application from USA if I live in Nigeria?

i feel comfortable asking this question in this thread because you guys already went through the process and are in a better position to advise us
