Pa Right sorry. I need to enroll for evening classes again to brush up my reading aptitude. No wonder the IELTS people go give me small mark there. I cant remember the exact band. But its enough to fetch the red ugwu.

Na Pa MuFu laid the foundation of suspicion in the house, so people now have to do background check on certain postings including your breaking news. But We know that when the PPR lands you will inform all.

I was just checking on the possibility of cost saving when the ugwu leaf eventually lands. And the followings are my discoveries. I narrow my survey to three airlines. British Airways, KLM and Lufthansa.

If one decides to take off from Accra to Calgary for family of 5 (2 adults + 3 children age 2-11), the cost will be as follows

KLM - $ 8,231.60 IOM rate will give one the value @ $ 4,938.60
BA - $ 15,270.00 IOM rate will give one the value @ $ 9,162.00
LUFT - $ 10,336.80 IOM rate will give one the value @ $ 6,202.08

These figures above applies to those who wants to move by July

KLM - $ 7,449.60 IOM rate will give one the value @ $ 4,469.76
BA - $ 7,207.65 IOM rate will give one the value @ $ 4,324.59
LUFT - $ 9,741.80 IOM rate will give one the value @ $ 5,845.08

These figures applies to those who will like to move from Oct

If Lagos is your departure point then the followings are the figures you will need to grapple with for family of 5 (2 adults + 3 children age 2-11).

KLM - $ 12,156.80 IOM rate will give one the value @ $ 7,294.08
BA - $ 13,825.90 IOM rate will give one the value @ $ 8,295.54
LUFT - $ 11,624.85 IOM rate will give one the value @ $ 6,974.91

These figures above applies to those who wants to move by July

KLM - $ 12,156.80 IOM rate will give one the value @ $ 7,294.08
BA - $ 8,998.05 IOM rate will give one the value @ $ 5,398.83
LUFT - $ 11,000.10 IOM rate will give one the value @ $ 6,600.06

These figures applies to those who will like to move from Oct

You all are free to dig further and make a decision. Sorry for my Ijebu approach :P :P :P

Yes! This is the kind of info. we want. Well done Pa EMO gbam! ;D ;D ;D

However, could you please do for family of 2,3, and 4 or do we use mathematics to find it? as in if family of 5 pays X then family of 4 will pay (4*X/5)???

But come to think of it, over US$1,000.00 difference is rather too much. The fare supposed to be very infinitesimal. With this analysis, I will seriuosly consider the Accra option, afterall I don't even need visa to enter Ghana and it would make a very good tourism for my little kids.

But na one thing dey fear me o, if Naija airline fails to carry one of our baggages, na serious gbege be dat o!

No. they don't do Emirate. But just asking o, why would you want to fly Emirate when you have option of BA/KLM/Lufthansa? Many of us go for Emirate cos of Px and if the IOM can give us what Pa EMO analysed, I think I will fly BA come October by the special grase of GOD gbam! :P :P :P

Emirates and qatar airlines are still the best by all standards. That is why.

You dont travel round the world just because of a cheap ticket. Think about the time you will stay on air and during flight connections. If travelling with kids it is even more stress.
For me the best option to hit north america is either a direct flight to USA and then connect from there (ie if you have a US visa) or go to Europe and then connect from there.
Going to middle east first before going to north america na wah oh

Thanks EMO - Quite an interesting analysis - Good product good thinking. :P :P :P. I beleive BA is okay and provides the least and most economical amount but have we considered the transit time?

EMO - Abeg heleeep us with the transit time info so that it can guide us in decision making :-\ :-\ :-\. If i am travelling alone i can afford an 8-hour wait to connect a flight to clagary but not when i am traveling with my wife and three kids and the last born is just 12months old. >:( >:( >:( >:(

Please my dear consider the wait period at the airport especially if you are going with children. Good tourism if you have the visa to go into the country.

But then I prefer to fly european airlines than the middle east!
