Great to finally see a forum like this congratulations to all those who have succeeded in their visa quest. Please is there anyone in the house who has actually applied to the Canadian embassy in Lagos for study permit? i need to know if they require a copy of my transcript or not. I am about to apply.

An applicant interested in migrating to Canada will gain more in this forum than someone seeking a study permit or other temporary visa to Canada. However, academic transcript is compulsory for an applicant going for Post graduate study or a student who is planning to transfer his/her studentship to Canada. This site ( http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/nigeria/assets/pdfs/visas/53_1_eng.pdf ) contains the checklist and all the necessary documents and information needed for a study permit.

I had previously lived in UK and Qatar b4, so my visa office is London. I'm currently in Nigeria. I received an email from London visa office that they sent me MR to my Nigeria address 16Aug 2012 , but I'm yet to receive it. They refused sending it via email or registered email, instead they request I visit my local post office or provide an alternative address for replacement document.

I had used my company's address in PH. Kindly advice or share you pass experience how document was been sent to you in Nige

I received an email from London visa office that they sent me MR to my Nigeria address 16Aug 2012 , but I'm yet to receive it. If you did not fill an email add into your form for communication purpose, it may be difficult to get them to do that now. Using your office address may be a good idea if its a secure address such as PMB or POB.

I will advice you instruct to re-issue another one. Because the initial one has conditions in it that will be binding. That is the 30-60day clause.

Better still, provide a UK Address and the recipient can now forward it to your by courier.

Or better , give them th eoption of using a courier agent to drop it at your door from their office in UK ... i had similar problem , i spent almost 90 days waiting for this MR, it was first sent to Nigeria , twice , couldnt get it , i waited close to 90 days , it was sent to my office in Accra same story .. so i decided to engage DHL in nigeria , gave them authority ( via a letter of authorit and a phoocopy of the letter sent to me ) to collect it on my behalf from Accra and i got it within a week . .... they will not want to go this route unless you insist on this option ...

AVO usually send MR by email and sometime accompany it with hardcopies. I received all my currespondence from AVO via email. You may send email message to them directly requesting them to scan and send to your email address. You only need to use coloured printer to print it out and it will be acceptable by the clinic for the medical exam. That is exactly what I did. But if their style is different in London, you can then try other options.
