For the ePassport there is no renewal, it is actually a re-issue, as you will get a new passport with a new number, the cost is about the same as getting a new passport, I believe that should be in the range of 9k and upward depending on how fast you want itayd said:hey pips, please who has an idea of how much the e-passport renewal costs?

The 9k is is the official rate if you want it very fast you will need like 15k to sort it out.

If yes! How long does it take the cheque/ draft to clear?what are the charges involved just looking at safe means of carrying funds.
I guess I read on the landed thread sometime ago that it takes about 1 month for the draft to clear. Someone on the general thread also advised that one can take some cash with them to meet the initial expenses and take the rest thru bank draft. I don't like the idea of carrying large cash though as it has it's own risk!!!priceless said:Hi all, hope the weekend is going smoothly.Just a quick question on landing funds.Has anyone used travelers cheque or draft or anyother means of carrying funds(aside cards)instead of carrying cash.

A friend who landed November 2012, went with USD Draft from Diamond bank and it cleared 2 days after he paid into his new account in Canada. Another person I know, funded his Naira account in GTB, printed the statement and went with his GT debit card, he didnt report any issue with landing.Orire said:I think it depends on so many factors. Forex Draft should not take more than 10 business days to clear. Please, i will like to know if the statement of bank account can be used as proof of fund, so that I can do bank wire immediately my canadian bank account is active.
