Just having a travel itinerary may not be sufficient. Have a strong reason for the trip like employment.
vow... if its vacation then they might not accept you think.... damn cic officers who give trouble till the end.
I dont want to take risk of booking costly tickets and trying to refund it.
Let me think about it then on what reason i should give.

@harirajmohan will you move to US after oath and apply Canada passport from USA? After oath, I plan to use my India passport (with work visa stamped) to enter US and then once I receive the certificate in my friend's home in Canada (who will also be my guarantor), will send docs to him for signature and then he can post to Passport Canada office. What's your plan?

I know this for a fact becoz the same was told by the clerk to me. They specifically ask for additional documents such as a letter from employer, visa in addition to travel tickets. You can try your luck but success is not guaranteed.

Same way as i am in Detroit and will attend oath in windsor and my address is edmonton hence my friend will send certificate to US. Later i am planning to drive to windsor to apply for passport(if they accept it).

this is ridiculous, travel is a travel which is important for individual which cannot be all the time life and death. I hope that they dont same tactic at passport office too.

@canadiantica15 @drkobra - did you guys receive the oath invitation? I just received it for May 11 but it says below:

Video oath ceremony Date and Time: 2022/05/11 (yyyy/mm/dd) at 8:15 AM (Time Zone) (Canada)

For everyone it usually says EDT or some other timezone but in my case it just says "Time Zone" - This is really stupid. I think they just forgot to add the timezone but instead added the word Time Zone. Please let me know if you are in same situation. Sender email id : <ircc.dncitngfscheduling01-convocationngfcitrn.ircc@cic.gc.ca>

@harirajmohan can you advise?

For my wife its 8:15 EDT on 10th from niagarafalls scheduling04 id. So surely this would be only EDT. So login at EDT time. You should be good.

For me its MST from edmonton on 2nd May. It looks like mostly the same timezone of the office. Also i doubt that it will be earlier than EDT for your location hence EDT for you.
