I must admit if you have a MBA and 3 years experience of project management, you should have no problem getting accredited as a PMP. There is the danger of it looking like you want to get another degree for the sake of it and becoming a professional student or a "study Tourist" which often does not look good especially to an immigration officer.

Hello all,
I have a Bachelor Degree in Finance and applied for a 2-year Diploma and coop for Business Marketing, at Algonquin College in Ottawa. My application was refused yesterday with these reasons:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your travel history.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the limited employment prospects in your country of residence.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.
----------------------------------
I should mention that the studies start in September 2021 and I applied for the Study Permit on January 14th. Do you think this is a reason I got rejected? If yes when would be the best time to reapply?
Im sure all the reasons mentioned by the officer dont make much sense regarding my application. I surely have travelled to at least 5 EU countries in the last 5 years. I do have a sister living in Ottawa, but I showed strong ties to my home country and also submitted a letter from my work manager stating that the studies will help me to advance in my job and they'll be happy to rehire me once I finish my studies. I applied along with my spouse.

Please give me some advice on how I should proceed? Do I have better chances if I apply alone? T
Thanks in advance.

You have a lot to overcome so order GCMS notes. What is your profile? Apply alone - who did you apply with?

Travel - these are to countries where you require a visa like US, UK, Australia
Country - do you live in your home country? If not, where. What is your sister’s status?
Purpose/Career prospects - what is the program and your background, age
Personal assets - how much did you show? Did you pay your tuition?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I submitted my application with my husband accompanying me(he applied for open work permit).
- I haven't travelled to any country that requires visa, only EU countries and I applied in Albania where I live and which is also my home country. My sister is a Canadian PR.
- Its a 2 year diploma program for Business Marketing with coop.
I have finished my 4 year Bachelor Degree in 2018.
- My sister paid my tuition fee for the first semester(9k cad) and she wrote a letter that she will help me financially for the study costs(attached her bank statements and employment contract). I showed 30K CAD for both myself and my husband, those will be living expenses.
Also I showed properties of my parents and a business we used to run with my husband, but suspended last year due to covid.
What would you recommend to change in my application?
Thanks a lot

What is your degree in? How does taking a Canadian Business Marketing course help your career in Albania. Having your sister pay your tuition and then have a letter that she will support you then shows you can’t afford to come to Canada. You should have paid your own tuition. Properties aren’t funds unless you sell them and show the cash in your bank accounts.

I have a degree in Finance. I added a letter from my supervisor stating that they are willing to rehire and promote me after the studies.
Also I have mentioned that it will help me to run some business projects that we aim to start up in the near future.

Migena I think 30K CAD is not enough for both of you.

I am Sheenam. I have applied for Conestoga college with the course Information technology and business analysis.
My background study is graduation in computer science and PG diploma in Management.
I also had the experience of 3 years as a lecturer and 6 months as a data analyst.
I have scored 6.5 overall bands in IELTS with no less than 6 in each.
I lodged my file in November 2020 then I got a refusal for the same on the 15th of March 2021.
I again applied for the same course with the new SOP but again I got a refusal.
Then I got this message "The applicant has failed to satisfy me that pursuing the selected program of study is reasonable given the high cost of international study in Canada when weighed against the potential career/employment benefits after completion, and the local options available for similar studies." as I applied my Caips Notes.
I have paid a One-year tuition fee and also GIC.
What would you recommend to change in my application?

IRCC doesn't believe your 1 year canadian course will add anything or have any improvement on your professional career, and I personally agree, based on your educational background your next step should be some kind of masters or PhD. But if you insist with the 1 year course, at least you should justify very well why you need this course and what benefit it will give in your career.

Hey Sheenam. When did you get your refusal? Also, where did you apply from, India?

Based on what I know, it would be better for you to apply for a Masters, since you already have a Bachelors and a PG diploma. Maybe the visa officer does not see the rationale behind applying for another diploma, as career benefits seem minimal.
